Verify your credentials match California licensing standards
Dignity Health operates heavily in California, where patient-facing roles often require state-recognized certifications. Confirm your medical administrative credentials translate before applying, since gaps here can delay an offer or complicate the H-1B specialty occupation determination.
Target Dignity Health's hospital campuses directly
Patient Service Specialist openings vary by facility, not just by region. Search by individual campus names like Mercy General or St. Mary's rather than filtering by company alone, since hiring managers at each site control their own requisitions and sponsorship decisions.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship history
Not every Patient Service Specialist posting at Dignity Health will explicitly mention visa sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles at Dignity Health that align with their documented sponsorship activity for this function, so you focus your applications where they count.
Ask HR about LCA filing timing before accepting
Before signing an offer, confirm whether Dignity Health will file the Labor Condition Application with DOL and submit Form I-129 within a timeline that works for your current status. If you're in a grace period or nearing OPT expiration, a two-month filing delay can be disqualifying.
Frame your experience around revenue cycle workflows
Dignity Health's Patient Service Specialists are evaluated heavily on insurance verification, prior authorizations, and Epic EHR proficiency. Applications that demonstrate hands-on experience with these workflows stand out and make the specialty occupation case easier for their immigration team to support.
Understand how EB-2 and EB-3 PERM fits this role long-term
Dignity Health has pursued both H-1B and PERM-based Green Card sponsorship for healthcare support roles. If permanent residence is your goal, ask during the offer stage whether this position falls within a job family that the company has sponsored through the PERM labor certification process before.

Find Patient Service Specialist at Dignity Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Dignity Health sponsor H-1B visas for Patient Service Specialists?
Yes, Dignity Health has sponsored H-1B visas for Patient Service Specialist roles. Sponsorship availability varies by facility and hiring manager, so it's worth confirming directly with the recruiter during the interview process. Positions at larger hospital campuses tend to have more established immigration support infrastructure than smaller outpatient sites.
How do I apply for Patient Service Specialist jobs at Dignity Health?
Applications go through Dignity Health's careers portal, where you can search by job title and location. You can also browse open Patient Service Specialist roles at Dignity Health that have a sponsorship track record through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship history. Tailor your resume to highlight Epic EHR experience, insurance verification, and patient intake workflows, since those are core to this role.
Which visa types does Dignity Health commonly use for Patient Service Specialist roles?
Dignity Health has used both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based immigrant visa pathways, including EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, for this function. The H-1B is the most common entry point. Long-tenured employees in this role have sometimes transitioned to permanent residence through the PERM labor certification process filed with the DOL.
What qualifications does Dignity Health expect for Patient Service Specialist candidates?
Dignity Health typically expects one to two years of experience in a medical front-office or patient access role, familiarity with insurance eligibility and prior authorization processes, and proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly Epic. Strong communication skills are essential since the role involves direct patient interaction, registration, and billing coordination across hospital and clinic settings.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when starting a Patient Service Specialist role at Dignity Health?
For H-1B sponsorship, the standard USCIS processing window runs three to five months after filing, though premium processing can reduce that to roughly 15 business days. Dignity Health's HR and legal teams generally initiate the Labor Condition Application with DOL several weeks before submitting Form I-129. Factor in at least four to six months from offer acceptance to having approved work authorization if you are not already in a qualifying status.
