Verify your credentials meet state requirements
Patient Service Specialist roles at PeaceHealth often require medical terminology knowledge and familiarity with healthcare billing systems like Epic. Confirm your credentials and any relevant certifications are documented before applying, as PeaceHealth screens these early in the hiring process.
Target PeaceHealth locations with active hiring
PeaceHealth operates across Washington, Oregon, and Alaska, and hiring activity for Patient Service Specialists is not uniform across all campuses. Focus applications on facilities with multiple open listings, since those locations signal active workforce needs and a higher likelihood of sponsorship conversations.
Use Migrate Mate to filter sponsorship-ready openings
Not every Patient Service Specialist posting at PeaceHealth will explicitly state visa sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles where PeaceHealth has a demonstrated history of filing for candidates in healthcare support functions, so you apply where sponsorship is a realistic outcome.
Clarify your visa type before the offer stage
PeaceHealth sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT candidates for this role, but each pathway has different employer obligations and timelines. Raise your visa status in your first HR conversation so the hiring team can loop in their immigration team before an offer is extended, not after.
Align your OPT start date with PeaceHealth hiring cycles
PeaceHealth recruits Patient Service Specialists on a rolling basis, but onboarding for clinical support roles often follows credentialing timelines. If you are on F-1 OPT, confirm your employment authorization start date gives PeaceHealth enough lead time to complete E-Verify verification before your first shift.
Prepare for PERM documentation if targeting permanent residency
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, PeaceHealth must complete a PERM labor certification through DOL, which requires demonstrating no qualified U.S. workers are available. Having a clean employment history and accurate prior job title documentation speeds up the PERM audit process significantly.

Does PeaceHealth sponsor H-1B visas for Patient Service Specialists?
Yes, PeaceHealth sponsors H-1B visas for Patient Service Specialists. This role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation when the position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as healthcare administration or health information management. You should confirm the specific degree requirements in the job posting and discuss sponsorship directly with PeaceHealth's HR team early in the process.
How do I apply for Patient Service Specialist jobs at PeaceHealth?
Applications are submitted through PeaceHealth's careers portal. Search for Patient Service Specialist openings filtered by location across their Washington, Oregon, and Alaska facilities. Tailor your application to highlight experience with patient registration, insurance verification, or electronic health record systems like Epic. Migrate Mate is a useful starting point to identify which PeaceHealth postings are open to visa-sponsored candidates before you apply.
Which visa types does PeaceHealth commonly use for Patient Service Specialist hires?
PeaceHealth has sponsored Patient Service Specialists through H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible healthcare occupations. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates. H-1B is the most frequently used long-term nonimmigrant pathway, and EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship is available for candidates PeaceHealth wants to retain permanently.
What qualifications does PeaceHealth expect for Patient Service Specialist roles?
Most Patient Service Specialist postings at PeaceHealth require at least a high school diploma, though a bachelor's degree in a health-related field strengthens both your application and your H-1B eligibility. Hands-on experience with patient registration, medical billing, insurance authorization, or EMR platforms like Epic is frequently listed as required or preferred. Customer service experience in a clinical environment also carries significant weight during screening.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at PeaceHealth?
From application to start date, the process typically spans two to four months, depending on your visa type and which PeaceHealth facility is hiring. H-1B petitions filed under USCIS standard processing take three to five months, while premium processing can cut that to 15 business days. F-1 OPT candidates can often start sooner, provided E-Verify is completed before the employment start date. Align your expected availability with these timelines when applying.
