Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Patient Service Specialist Jobs at Sun River Health Jobs
Credential Your Healthcare Admin Experience Early
Patient Service Specialist roles at Sun River Health require demonstrated front-desk or medical administrative experience. Before applying, gather documentation showing EMR system proficiency, patient intake workflows, and any HIPAA compliance training, since these directly map to what hiring managers screen for.
Target Sun River Health's Federally Qualified Locations
Sun River Health operates as a Federally Qualified Health Center, which influences its workforce priorities and funding structure. Applying to clinics in underserved communities can strengthen your candidacy, since FQHC hiring often aligns with mission-driven staffing and more flexible sponsorship consideration.
Clarify Sponsorship Eligibility Before Your Interview
Sun River Health has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 pathways for this function, which involve PERM labor certification filed through DOL. Ask HR during screening whether your specific role and site are flagged for permanent residence sponsorship, since eligibility can vary by clinic location.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open Roles by Visa Type
Sun River Health posts Patient Service Specialist openings across multiple New York locations simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter these listings by the visa types they've historically sponsored, so you're applying only to roles where international candidates have a verified path forward.
Align Your OPT or TN Timeline With Hiring Cycles
Sun River Health recruits Patient Service Specialists on a rolling basis given high clinic volume. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining authorization window covers onboarding plus the 90-day STEM extension filing buffer, or confirm TN eligibility under a qualifying healthcare-adjacent occupation before accepting an offer.
Confirm Work Authorization Verification Before Your Start Date
Sun River Health participates in E-Verify, the federal employment eligibility system. Have your I-94, EAD card, or other authorization documents ready for Form I-9 completion on day one. Any mismatch triggers a tentative nonconfirmation that can delay or void your start date.

Find Patient Service Specialist at Sun River Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sun River Health sponsor H-1B visas for Patient Service Specialists?
Patient Service Specialist roles at Sun River Health are generally classified as administrative and clerical positions rather than specialty occupations under USCIS H-1B criteria, which require a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the job. Sun River Health's documented sponsorship activity for this role has focused on EB-2 and EB-3 permanent residence pathways rather than H-1B. If permanent sponsorship is your goal, those employment-based immigrant visa categories are the more realistic route here.
How do I apply for Patient Service Specialist jobs at Sun River Health?
Sun River Health posts open Patient Service Specialist positions through its careers portal and on major job boards. Migrate Mate aggregates these listings and filters them by visa sponsorship history, making it easier to confirm which openings are accessible to international candidates. When applying, tailor your resume to front-desk healthcare workflows and reference any EMR systems you've used, since those are core to this role.
Which visa types does Sun River Health commonly sponsor for Patient Service Specialist roles?
Sun River Health's sponsorship activity for Patient Service Specialists has included EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card pathways, both of which go through PERM labor certification with the Department of Labor before USCIS adjudication. The organization has also supported F-1 OPT and TN visa holders in this function. Permanent residence sponsorship is the more common long-term route given the administrative nature of the role.
What qualifications does Sun River Health expect for Patient Service Specialist candidates?
Sun River Health typically looks for prior experience in medical front-desk, patient intake, or healthcare administrative roles. Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, appointment scheduling software, and HIPAA privacy requirements is consistently valued. Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish, is a strong differentiator given the patient populations Sun River Health serves across its community health centers in New York.
How do I understand the sponsorship timeline if Sun River Health offers to sponsor my Green Card?
EB-3 sponsorship through Sun River Health begins with PERM labor certification, which DOL typically adjudicates within six to eighteen months. After PERM approval, your employer files an I-140 petition with USCIS. Depending on your country of birth, a visa number may be immediately available or subject to a backlog. Starting this process early in your employment is important, since the full timeline from PERM filing to adjustment of status approval can span several years.
