Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Nurse Practitioner Jobs at Sun River Health Jobs
Verify Your NP Licensure Transfers to New York
New York requires a separate state NP license, and Sun River Health operates exclusively within the state. Start the NYSED licensure process early since credential verification for internationally trained nurses can take several months.
Highlight FQHC Experience in Your Application
Sun River Health is a federally qualified health center, so applications that reflect experience with underserved or community health populations stand out. Frame any clinic, rural health, or safety-net setting experience prominently in your resume.
Clarify TN Eligibility Before Your Interview
Canadian and Mexican NPs may qualify for TN status under the USMCA professional category. Confirm your job offer letter explicitly describes the role as a specialty occupation and that your credentials align with what DOL requires for TN classification.
Ask HR About Their PERM Timeline Upfront
If you need EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, ask the hiring team directly whether they initiate PERM labor certification during onboarding or after a qualifying period. Healthcare employers vary significantly, and knowing their internal process early shapes your planning.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open NP Roles
Sun River Health posts Nurse Practitioner openings across multiple clinic sites. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for their visa-sponsoring NP positions so you can track which sites are actively hiring and apply before roles close.
Bridge F-1 OPT Gaps With a Concurrent Role Offer
If you're on F-1 OPT and your 12-month authorization period is running short, confirm whether Sun River Health can begin employer-sponsored filing before your OPT expires. A gap in authorized employment status during USCIS processing can complicate your work authorization.

Does Sun River Health sponsor H-1B visas for Nurse Practitioners?
Sun River Health's primary sponsorship pathways for Nurse Practitioners are employment-based immigrant visas like EB-2 and EB-3, along with F-1 OPT and TN. H-1B sponsorship for NP roles at federally qualified health centers is less common, though not impossible. You should ask the HR team directly during the offer stage to confirm which visa categories they actively support for this role.
How do I apply for Nurse Practitioner jobs at Sun River Health?
You can find open Nurse Practitioner positions at Sun River Health through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles with visa sponsorship. Applications typically require a current New York NP license or evidence of active licensure in progress, a resume reflecting primary care or community health experience, and documentation of your current work authorization status so HR can assess sponsorship eligibility early.
Which visa types are commonly used for Nurse Practitioner roles at Sun River Health?
Sun River Health has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for Nurse Practitioners, which require PERM labor certification filed through the Department of Labor. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for candidates completing clinical training, and TN status is available for Canadian and Mexican NPs who qualify under USMCA professional categories. Each pathway has distinct eligibility requirements and timelines.
What qualifications does Sun River Health expect for Nurse Practitioner candidates?
Sun River Health typically hires NPs with a Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, an active or pending New York state NP license, and a DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one. Experience in primary care, family medicine, or community health settings is strongly preferred given their patient population. Bilingual candidates, particularly Spanish-speaking, are frequently prioritized across their clinic sites.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Nurse Practitioner at Sun River Health?
For EB-3 sponsorship, the process typically begins with PERM labor certification, which takes six months to over a year at DOL before USCIS petition filing even starts. TN status can be obtained at the border or port of entry for eligible candidates, often within a single day. F-1 OPT authorization must be in place before your start date, so confirm timelines with USCIS well before your program end date.
