Verify your credentials meet state licensing requirements
Patient Service Specialist roles at Trinity Health vary by facility, and some states require medical billing or patient access certifications. Confirm your credentials align with the specific state where you're applying before submitting, since sponsorship timelines depend on role eligibility.
Target Trinity Health facilities in high-demand regions
Trinity Health operates hospitals and medical groups across more than a dozen states. Facilities in underserved or high-turnover regions are more likely to pursue sponsorship for patient-facing support roles, so prioritize locations with multiple open positions.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Trinity Health openings by visa type
Not every Patient Service Specialist posting at Trinity Health will explicitly mention sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter Trinity Health roles by the visa types you need, so you're only applying to positions where sponsorship is confirmed.
Ask HR which visa pathways their immigration counsel handles
Trinity Health's sponsorship process runs through regional HR and outside immigration counsel. During the offer stage, ask directly whether they support H-1B transfers or if they only handle new cap-subject filings, since that affects your timeline significantly.
Understand how OPT gaps interact with Trinity Health's onboarding timeline
Healthcare onboarding at Trinity Health includes background checks, health screenings, and compliance training that can take four to six weeks. If you're on F-1 OPT, factor this into your STEM extension or cap-gap planning to avoid an authorization gap before your start date.
Prepare documentation showing patient-facing healthcare experience
Trinity Health's hiring managers for Patient Service Specialist roles weight direct patient interaction experience heavily. Gather reference letters, performance reviews, or training certificates from prior clinical or administrative healthcare settings before your interview, not after the offer.

Find Patient Service Specialist at Trinity Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Trinity Health sponsor H-1B visas for Patient Service Specialists?
Yes, Trinity Health has sponsored H-1B visas for roles in patient access and healthcare support functions. Sponsorship availability depends on the specific facility and regional HR team, so it's not uniform across all locations. When you receive an offer, confirm directly with the hiring manager whether that facility's immigration counsel is prepared to file an H-1B petition for the role.
How do I apply for Patient Service Specialist jobs at Trinity Health?
Applications go through Trinity Health's careers portal, where listings are organized by location and service line. Search for Patient Service Specialist or Patient Access roles and apply directly on the site. You can also browse Trinity Health's sponsored openings on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa type so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is confirmed before you invest time in the application.
Which visa types are commonly used for Patient Service Specialist roles at Trinity Health?
Trinity Health has supported H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for healthcare support roles. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering patient access or administrative positions. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations. EB-3 is the most typical Green Card route for non-degree healthcare support staff.
What qualifications does Trinity Health expect for Patient Service Specialist candidates?
Most Patient Service Specialist roles at Trinity Health require a high school diploma or equivalent, though an associate degree in health information or a related field strengthens your application. Experience with electronic health records systems, patient registration, or medical billing is weighted heavily. Some facilities prefer candidates with CHAA or CHAM certification from NAHAM. Strong communication skills are consistently listed as a requirement across all locations.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at Trinity Health?
From offer to start date, the process at Trinity Health typically takes six to twelve weeks when factoring in onboarding compliance requirements alongside visa filing. For H-1B transfers, USCIS portability rules allow you to begin working once the petition is filed, not when it's approved. For new cap-subject H-1B filings, you'd need to align your offer timing with the April 1 filing window and an October 1 start date.
