Get Your NCLEX and Credentials Verified Early
Trinity Health requires U.S. nursing licensure before you can start. Begin your NCLEX registration and credential evaluation through a CGFNS-recognized body well before applying, since state board processing can add months to your timeline.
Target Facility Types With Chronic Staffing Gaps
Trinity Health's critical access hospitals and long-term care facilities tend to have more persistent nursing vacancies than flagship medical centers. Focusing your application on these sites improves your odds of reaching a hiring manager willing to initiate sponsorship.
Understand Which Visa Fits Your Degree and Status
Trinity Health sponsors multiple visa categories for nursing roles. TN status works if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship with a nursing degree. H-1B applies broadly but requires cap-subject registration each March. EB-3 is the standard immigrant pathway for registered nurses.
Ask HR Directly About PERM Timeline Expectations
EB-3 sponsorship for nurses involves a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before your I-140 petition. Ask Trinity Health's HR team upfront whether they initiate PERM at offer or after a probationary period, since timelines vary by facility.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Nursing Roles at Trinity Health
Filtering for visa-sponsoring employers in healthcare is time-consuming without the right tool. Use Migrate Mate to browse Trinity Health's current nursing openings filtered by sponsorship type, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Align Your Application to State Licensure Requirements
Trinity Health operates in states with different compact licensure rules. If a posting is in a non-compact state, you'll need a separate license for that state before USCIS can approve your H-1B petition, so confirm licensure status before submitting your application.

Find Nursing at Trinity Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Trinity Health sponsor H-1B visas for Nursing roles?
Yes, Trinity Health sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying nursing positions. Because H-1B is a cap-subject visa, your employer must submit a registration during the annual USCIS lottery window in March. If selected, Trinity Health can then file the full petition. Nurses with a bachelor's degree in nursing are generally eligible since registered nursing meets the specialty occupation standard under USCIS guidelines.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Trinity Health?
You can search Trinity Health's career portal directly or use Migrate Mate to filter for nursing roles at Trinity Health that include visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific facility and unit type rather than submitting a generic application. Highlight your licensure status, clinical specialties, and any U.S. clinical experience prominently since those factors weigh heavily in Trinity Health's screening process.
Which visa types does Trinity Health commonly use for Nursing roles?
Trinity Health sponsors H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT and CPT, and immigrant visa categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for nursing positions. EB-3 is the most common long-term pathway for registered nurses since the role maps directly to a Schedule A occupation, which waives the DOL PERM labor market test and can accelerate the Green Card process significantly compared to most other employment-based categories.
What qualifications does Trinity Health expect for sponsored Nursing positions?
Trinity Health generally requires a valid U.S. RN license in the state where the role is located, NCLEX passage, and a nursing degree recognized by a CGFNS-credentialed evaluator for internationally trained applicants. Clinical experience in a relevant specialty such as medical-surgical, ICU, or emergency nursing strengthens your candidacy. Some facilities also require BLS and ACLS certifications before the offer stage, not after.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Trinity Health Nursing role?
The timeline depends on your visa type. TN status for Canadian or Mexican nurses can be obtained at the border in a single day if documents are in order. H-1B standard processing typically takes three to six months after a successful lottery selection. EB-3 sponsorship is longer, often one to three years or more depending on your country of birth and USCIS processing backlogs, though Schedule A designation can reduce some steps in that process.
