Verify Your Medical Credentials Early
ECFMG certification and USMLE completion are prerequisites for most Physician roles at Trinity Health. Get your credentials verified through ECFMG before applying so licensing delays don't stall your offer or visa timeline.
Target Trinity Health's Underserved Facility Locations
Trinity Health operates facilities in rural and underserved areas that qualify for HPSA designations, which can support J-1 waiver applications. Physician candidates on J-1 visas should research which Trinity locations fall within shortage areas before applying.
Ask Directly About H-1B Cap Exemption Status
Some Trinity Health facilities are affiliated with nonprofit research or teaching institutions, which may qualify as cap-exempt H-1B employers. Confirm this with the hiring team before your lottery window closes so you can time your petition correctly.
Search Physician Openings on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Physician roles at Trinity Health by visa type, so you can identify which positions are actively sponsoring the visa category that fits your situation before you spend time on applications.
Negotiate Sponsorship Scope Before Signing
Trinity Health's sponsorship commitments can vary by role and region. Before signing an employment agreement, confirm in writing whether your offer includes Green Card sponsorship, not just H-1B, so you have clarity on your long-term immigration path.

Find Physician at Trinity Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Trinity Health sponsor H-1B visas for Physicians?
Yes, Trinity Health sponsors H-1B visas for Physician roles. Depending on the facility's institutional affiliations, some locations may qualify as cap-exempt H-1B employers, which means petitions can be filed outside the annual lottery. You'll want to confirm cap-exempt status with the specific hiring location during your offer negotiations, as this varies across the Trinity Health system.
Which visa types does Trinity Health commonly use for Physician roles?
Trinity Health sponsors H-1B, J-1, TN, F-1 OPT, and permanent residence pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Physicians. J-1 waivers are common for international medical graduates, particularly for positions at facilities in underserved areas. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican physicians in qualifying clinical roles. The right visa type depends on your nationality, training background, and career timeline.
What qualifications does Trinity Health expect for sponsored Physician positions?
Trinity Health generally requires ECFMG certification, USMLE completion, and an active or pending state medical license for Physician roles. Board certification or eligibility in your specialty is expected for most clinical positions. Residency or fellowship training completed in the U.S. strengthens your application, and some roles require prior attending experience depending on the specialty and facility.
How do I apply for Physician jobs at Trinity Health?
You can browse Physician openings at Trinity Health filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which shows you which roles are actively sponsoring before you apply. Once you identify a position, apply directly through Trinity Health's careers portal. Be upfront about your visa requirements in your application or initial recruiter call so the hiring team can confirm sponsorship eligibility for that specific role and location.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Trinity Health Physician role?
Timelines vary by visa type. An H-1B standard processing takes three to five months after filing, while premium processing shortens that to around 15 business days. J-1 waiver approvals through the Conrad 30 program can take six months or more. If Trinity Health pursues PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, the full EB-2 or EB-3 process typically spans one to three years depending on your country of chargeability and priority date movement.
