Tips for Finding Patient Care Manager Jobs at Sun River Health
Obtain Your Clinical Licensure Before Applying
Patient Care Manager roles at Sun River Health require active state licensure in New York. Start the endorsement or reciprocity process early, as USCIS and your employer both need proof of licensure before any petition can move forward.
Target Sun River Health's FQHC Site Openings
Sun River Health operates federally qualified health centers across multiple New York counties. Roles listed under community health or primary care sites are where Patient Care Manager openings concentrate, so filter your search by site type rather than scanning general healthcare job boards.
Clarify Your Visa Category With the Hiring Team
Sun River Health sponsors both employment-based immigrant visas and OPT, which serve different timelines. Before your offer conversation, confirm which pathway applies to your situation so you and the employer align on PERM filing requirements or OPT extension windows from the start.
Align Your Resume to Care Coordination Metrics
Sun River Health's Patient Care Manager function is evaluated on patient outcomes and team throughput. Quantify your care coordination or case management experience in terms of panel size, referral rates, or quality benchmarks rather than listing duties to match the competencies their hiring teams screen for.
Browse Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
Sun River Health posts Patient Care Manager openings across multiple sites at different times of year. Use Migrate Mate to filter active roles by visa type so you see only positions where sponsorship is confirmed, saving time on applications that won't lead to a petition.
Prepare for a Longer EB-3 Timeline If You're Degree-Eligible
If Sun River Health pursues an EB-3 or EB-2 pathway, PERM labor certification adds months before the I-140 petition reaches USCIS. Request a written timeline from HR during the offer stage so you plan your current status around the actual filing sequence, not an assumed start date.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sun River Health sponsor H-1B visas for Patient Care Managers?
Sun River Health's primary sponsorship pathways for Patient Care Manager roles are employment-based Green Card categories such as EB-2 and EB-3, along with OPT for eligible F-1 graduates. H-1B visa sponsorship is less common for this role category because Patient Care Manager positions often align with nursing or allied health classifications that fit better under immigrant visa tracks. Confirm the available pathway directly with Sun River Health's HR team during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Patient Care Manager jobs at Sun River Health?
Applications go through Sun River Health's careers portal, where positions are listed by site and department. You can also browse sponsorship-confirmed openings on Migrate Mate, which filters Sun River Health's active roles by visa type. Prepare a resume that emphasizes care coordination, team supervision, and patient outcome metrics, as those are the core competencies Sun River Health screens for in Patient Care Manager candidates.
Which visa types does Sun River Health commonly use for Patient Care Manager roles?
Sun River Health has sponsored international employees through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, as well as F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for qualifying graduates. TN visa status is also available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible healthcare occupations. The appropriate pathway depends on your degree, current status, and the specific classification Sun River Health assigns to the Patient Care Manager role at the time of hiring.
What qualifications does Sun River Health expect for Patient Care Manager candidates?
Sun River Health typically looks for candidates with a clinical background in nursing or a related allied health field, active New York state licensure, and demonstrated experience managing care teams or coordinating patient services in a community health or primary care setting. Familiarity with FQHC operations, value-based care metrics, and electronic health record systems strengthens your application. Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary staff is a recurring requirement across their Patient Care Manager postings.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Patient Care Manager at Sun River Health?
If Sun River Health pursues an EB-3 or EB-2 pathway, the PERM labor certification process with DOL typically takes six to twelve months before the I-140 petition is filed with USCIS, and priority date backlogs can extend the overall timeline further depending on your country of birth. OPT-based employment can begin more quickly, provided your F-1 program end date and OPT authorization window align with the role's start date. Request a written projection of the filing sequence from HR before accepting an offer.
