Verify your credentials meet Massachusetts requirements
Massachusetts requires patient-facing healthcare roles to meet specific documentation standards. Before applying, confirm your academic transcripts and any foreign credentials are evaluated by a NACES-approved service so Mass General Brigham's HR team can assess equivalency without delays.
Target postings tied to specific MGB entities
Mass General Brigham operates across multiple member institutions including Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's. Patient Service Specialist postings are listed by entity, so filtering by specific hospital sites surfaces more openings than searching the umbrella brand alone.
Browse open roles directly through Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Patient Service Specialist jobs at Mass General Brigham by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you from applying to postings where sponsorship isn't available. Use it to identify active openings before reaching out to recruiters.
Ask about H-1B timing during the offer stage
H-1B cap-subject filings only open in April, with an October 1 start date. When Mass General Brigham extends an offer, confirm whether they'll file in the next registration window so you can plan your start date and any OPT or grace period coverage accordingly.
Highlight Epic and patient scheduling experience explicitly
Mass General Brigham runs on Epic across its network. Patient Service Specialist roles require scheduling, referral management, and insurance verification. Listing direct Epic experience in your application signals immediate operational fit and reduces onboarding friction for hiring managers.
Understand how USCIS specialty occupation applies here
Patient Service Specialist roles are administrative, not clinical, which means USCIS scrutinizes whether the position qualifies as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes. Roles tied to healthcare administration or health information management with a relevant bachelor's degree tend to hold up better during adjudication.
