Align your portfolio to AEC workflows
DLR Group's engineering teams build tools that serve architects, engineers, and construction managers. Highlight experience with BIM integrations, project data pipelines, or AEC-specific platforms like Autodesk or Procore to signal direct relevance before your application lands on a recruiter's desk.
Confirm LCA filing before accepting offers
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Ask DLR Group's HR team explicitly whether the LCA is filed and certified, not just initiated, before you give notice at a current employer.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles
Senior Software Engineering openings at DLR Group are spread across multiple office locations and project teams. Use Migrate Mate to filter for roles that include visa sponsorship so you're only targeting positions where sponsorship is already confirmed, not hoping it's available.
Prepare degree equivalency documentation early
H-1B specialty occupation requires a qualifying bachelor's degree or its equivalent. If your credential is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before interviews, since DLR Group will need this for the I-129 petition package.
Target office locations with active project pipelines
DLR Group operates across dozens of regional offices, and software engineering headcount often tracks active construction and design project volume. Offices supporting large healthcare, education, or federal projects tend to have sustained engineering hiring rather than short-term bursts.
Understand cap-gap coverage during OPT to H-1B transition
If you're on F-1 OPT when DLR Group files your H-1B and your EAD expires before October 1, cap-gap rules extend your work authorization automatically. Keep your OPT EAD and the H-1B receipt notice together as proof of continuous authorization during this window.

Find Senior Software Engineering at DLR Group JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does DLR Group sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Software Engineers?
Yes, DLR Group has sponsored H-1B visas for Senior Software Engineering roles. The process requires your employer to first file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then submit an I-129 petition to USCIS on your behalf. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are tied to the annual lottery, timing your job search to align with the April filing window is critical.
How do I apply for Senior Software Engineering jobs at DLR Group?
Applications go through DLR Group's careers portal, where roles are listed by office location and practice area. Before applying, review the job description for references to specific AEC technologies or internal platforms, since Senior Software Engineering roles at DLR Group often require familiarity with architecture and construction workflows rather than purely product or enterprise software backgrounds.
Which visa types does DLR Group support for Senior Software Engineering positions?
DLR Group has supported H-1B sponsorship for Senior Software Engineers and has also worked with candidates on F-1 OPT and CPT, as well as TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals. TN visas require the role to qualify as a NAFTA-designated occupation, which Senior Software Engineering typically satisfies under the engineer or computer systems analyst categories.
What qualifications does DLR Group expect for Senior Software Engineering roles?
Senior Software Engineering roles at DLR Group typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, along with several years of professional experience. Given the AEC context, experience with cloud infrastructure, data engineering, or integrations with design and construction platforms carries more weight than general web or consumer product experience.
How do I find Senior Software Engineering roles at DLR Group that include visa sponsorship?
Not every open role at DLR Group will include explicit sponsorship language in the job posting. Migrate Mate aggregates Senior Software Engineering openings specifically filtered for visa sponsorship eligibility, so you can identify which DLR Group positions are relevant to your situation without applying blindly and discovering sponsorship isn't available after the interview stage.
