GenAI Full Stack Developer - Senior Consultant
Deloitte's Audit & Assurance professionals help organizations navigate business risks and opportunities - across financial, operational, information technology (IT), business, and regulatory areas - to build resilience and accelerate performance. In this role, you'll design and deliver end-to-end Generative AI (GenAI) solutions - including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic AI - that are production-ready, scalable, and aligned to enterprise risk and governance expectations.
Recruiting for this role ends on
Work you'll do
- Lead business and technical requirements elicitation with client stakeholders; own end-to-end gap analysis; translate needs into solution architecture, detailed technical specifications, and delivery-ready backlog artifacts.
- Drive design, build, test, and deployment of full-stack Generative AI (GenAI) applications (web user interface (UI), backend services, and data/model components); ensure non-functional requirements (security, performance, reliability) are met.
- Own end-to-end retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) implementations (ingestion, chunking, embedding, indexing, retrieval, orchestration); define prompt engineering standards and evaluation harnesses to measure quality and reduce hallucinations.
- Architect agentic AI workflows (tool-using agents, multi-step orchestration, multi-agent patterns); integrate into enterprise platforms and business processes with appropriate controls, auditability, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
- Lead model training, fine-tuning, and validation; establish evaluation approaches and key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality, robustness, bias/safety, and cost/latency; run benchmarking and iteration cycles to meet acceptance criteria.
- Own API and integration service design; deliver scalable RESTful interfaces; coordinate integration with downstream/upstream systems, identity and access management (IAM), and operational workflows.
- Lead extract, transform, load (ETL) and data engineering pipeline delivery to curate governed datasets for GenAI solutions; partner with data governance and risk teams on lineage, access controls, and data quality standards.
- Operationalize deployments using containerized patterns and cloud services; implement monitoring/observability (performance, cost, drift, quality signals) and drive continuous improvement through incident learnings and release management.
- Advise on emerging GenAI models, frameworks, and toolkits; prototype and recommend options with explicit tradeoffs across value, delivery effort, risk, compliance, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, data, risk, and stakeholders) to deliver adoption-ready solutions and documentation.
The team
Our team culture is collaborative and encourages team members to take initiative and seek on-the-job learning opportunities. Audit & Assurance services are focused on engagements related to independent External Audit services, Accounting, Controls & Reporting Advisory, and Specialized Assurance & Sustainability. We bring together the diverse skills and industry experience of our people, leading-edge technology, and a global network to deliver high-quality audits of financial statements and internal controls over financial reporting, along with assurance reports and valuable advice and insights across the corporate reporting landscape. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Align your background with Deloitte's practice areas
Deloitte's Senior Software Engineering roles sit inside specific practices like Government and Public Services, Financial Services, and Technology. Tailor your resume to the practice you're targeting, not just the job title, so your application routes to the right hiring team.
Clarify your visa type early in conversations
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, and EB-2/EB-3, but individual hiring managers don't always know which categories their team supports. Ask your recruiter directly which visa types are available for the specific role and business unit before moving forward.
Prepare credentials for specialty occupation documentation
USCIS requires that your degree field directly supports your job duties for H-1B specialty occupation classification. For consulting-based engineering roles at Deloitte, gather transcripts and any relevant certifications that map your academic background to the technical scope of the position.
Time your application around Deloitte's hiring cycles
Deloitte runs structured campus and experienced-hire recruiting cycles with defined offer windows. For H-1B sponsorship, offers typically need to be finalized well before the April 1 USCIS filing window to allow time for LCA certification with the DOL.
Use Migrate Mate to target open roles by visa type
Deloitte posts Senior Software Engineering roles across multiple business units, making it hard to identify which openings are actively sponsoring. Use Migrate Mate to filter Deloitte's open positions by the visa categories you need, so you're applying where sponsorship is already in play.
Understand how PERM affects your long-term path
If Deloitte sponsors your EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card, the PERM labor certification process requires the employer to document that no qualified U.S. workers are available. Deloitte's legal team typically initiates this, but you should understand the timeline so you can plan renewals and maintain valid H-1B status throughout.

Find Senior Software Engineering at Deloitte JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Software Engineers?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Senior Software Engineering roles. Sponsorship availability can vary by practice area and business unit, so confirm early in the recruiting process whether the specific team you're interviewing with supports H-1B sponsorship. Deloitte also sponsors H-1B1 and E-3 visas for eligible nationals.
How do I apply for Senior Software Engineering jobs at Deloitte?
Apply directly through Deloitte's careers portal or browse open Senior Software Engineering positions filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. Deloitte runs both experienced-hire and campus recruiting tracks. Tailoring your application to a specific practice area, such as Government and Public Services or Technology, improves your chances of reaching the right hiring team.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly sponsor for Senior Software Engineering roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for temporary work authorization, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa petitions for eligible employees pursuing permanent residency. The visa category used depends on your nationality, qualifications, and the specific role. Australians on E-3 visas and nationals from treaty countries using H-1B1 have sponsored pathways available.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Senior Software Engineering roles?
Deloitte typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field for Senior Software Engineering positions. Several years of hands-on development experience are expected, along with proficiency in relevant tech stacks tied to the practice area. Consulting-specific experience or client-facing delivery background strengthens your application at this level.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at Deloitte for engineering roles?
For H-1B sponsorship, Deloitte must first file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, which typically takes one to two weeks, before submitting the petition to USCIS by April 1 for an October 1 start date. Standard USCIS processing runs three to five months. Premium processing reduces that to around two to three weeks for an additional USCIS fee.
