Align your background with Deloitte's practice areas
Deloitte's Senior Software Engineering roles sit inside specific practices like Government and Public Services, Financial Services, and Technology. Tailor your resume to the practice you're targeting, not just the job title, so your application routes to the right hiring team.
Clarify your visa type early in conversations
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3, and EB-2/EB-3, but individual hiring managers don't always know which categories their team supports. Ask your recruiter directly which visa types are available for the specific role and business unit before moving forward.
Prepare credentials for specialty occupation documentation
USCIS requires that your degree field directly supports your job duties for H-1B specialty occupation classification. For consulting-based engineering roles at Deloitte, gather transcripts and any relevant certifications that map your academic background to the technical scope of the position.
Time your application around Deloitte's hiring cycles
Deloitte runs structured campus and experienced-hire recruiting cycles with defined offer windows. For H-1B sponsorship, offers typically need to be finalized well before the April 1 USCIS filing window to allow time for LCA certification with the DOL.
Use Migrate Mate to target open roles by visa type
Deloitte posts Senior Software Engineering roles across multiple business units, making it hard to identify which openings are actively sponsoring. Use Migrate Mate to filter Deloitte's open positions by the visa categories you need, so you're applying where sponsorship is already in play.
Understand how PERM affects your long-term path
If Deloitte sponsors your EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card, the PERM labor certification process requires the employer to document that no qualified U.S. workers are available. Deloitte's legal team typically initiates this, but you should understand the timeline so you can plan renewals and maintain valid H-1B status throughout.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Deloitte sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Software Engineers?
Yes, Deloitte sponsors H-1B visas for Senior Software Engineering roles. Sponsorship availability can vary by practice area and business unit, so confirm early in the recruiting process whether the specific team you're interviewing with supports H-1B sponsorship. Deloitte also sponsors H-1B1 visa and E-3 visas for eligible nationals.
How do I apply for Senior Software Engineering jobs at Deloitte?
Apply directly through Deloitte's careers portal or browse open Senior Software Engineering positions filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate. Deloitte runs both experienced-hire and campus recruiting tracks. Tailoring your application to a specific practice area, such as Government and Public Services or Technology, improves your chances of reaching the right hiring team.
Which visa types does Deloitte commonly sponsor for Senior Software Engineering roles?
Deloitte sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, and E-3 visas for temporary work authorization, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa petitions for eligible employees pursuing permanent residency. The visa category used depends on your nationality, qualifications, and the specific role. Australians on E-3 visas and nationals from treaty countries using H-1B1 have sponsored pathways available.
What qualifications does Deloitte expect for Senior Software Engineering roles?
Deloitte typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field for Senior Software Engineering positions. Several years of hands-on development experience are expected, along with proficiency in relevant tech stacks tied to the practice area. Consulting-specific experience or client-facing delivery background strengthens your application at this level.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at Deloitte for engineering roles?
For H-1B sponsorship, Deloitte must first file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, which typically takes one to two weeks, before submitting the petition to USCIS by April 1 for an October 1 start date. Standard USCIS processing runs three to five months. Premium processing reduces that to around two to three weeks for an additional USCIS fee.
