Align your portfolio to infrastructure projects
STV's engineering work spans transportation, utilities, and government infrastructure. Tailor your resume and portfolio to highlight systems design, backend architecture, or data engineering work tied to large-scale civil or public-sector projects before you apply.
Target roles that match specialty occupation criteria
For H-1B sponsorship to hold at a consulting firm, your job duties must require a specific bachelor's degree field. At STV, Senior Software Engineering roles tied to engineering systems or infrastructure analysis typically satisfy DOL's specialty occupation standard more cleanly than generalist positions.
Build credentials that support PERM down the line
STV sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Senior Software Engineers, which requires PERM labor certification. Document your experience, education, and any specialized training now so your employer can demonstrate no minimally qualified U.S. worker was available when the time comes.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Senior Software Engineering roles at STV
Searching broadly wastes time when you're on a visa deadline. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Senior Software Engineering openings at STV that actively support visa sponsorship, so you're applying where your status is already anticipated.
Confirm LCA wage compliance before accepting an offer
Consulting firms sometimes adjust project assignments after hiring, which can affect the work location tied to your Labor Condition Application. Before signing, ask your recruiter whether your offer letter specifies a worksite and whether the LCA wage covers the prevailing wage at that location per DOL requirements.

Find Senior Software Engineering at STV JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does STV sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Software Engineers?
Yes, STV sponsors H-1B visas for Senior Software Engineering roles. As a consulting and professional services firm with active project delivery across infrastructure and public-sector work, STV has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions for technical staff. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, the sponsoring employer must file during the annual lottery window, so timing your offer and start date accordingly matters.
How do I apply for Senior Software Engineering jobs at STV?
Applications go through STV's careers portal, where Senior Software Engineering roles are listed by location and project area. You can also find visa-sponsorship-confirmed openings through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles at STV that support international candidates. Prepare for a technical screening, architecture or systems design discussion, and questions about experience on large-scale or regulated projects given STV's project profile.
Which visa types does STV commonly sponsor for Senior Software Engineering roles?
STV sponsors H-1B, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Senior Software Engineers, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles. F-1 students on STEM OPT can work for up to three years before H-1B sponsorship becomes necessary, which gives both parties time to evaluate fit before committing to a full cap-subject petition.
What qualifications does STV expect for Senior Software Engineering roles?
STV typically looks for a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, paired with several years of professional experience building scalable systems. For senior-level positions, experience with enterprise or infrastructure software, cloud platforms, and systems integration matters more than any single language. Consulting environments also reward candidates who can communicate technical decisions clearly to non-engineering stakeholders.
How does the sponsorship timeline work if I receive an offer from STV?
If you're on F-1 OPT, you can start without delay while STV prepares an H-1B petition for the next cap season. H-1B cap petitions are submitted in March for an October 1 start, so if your OPT expires before then, confirm your STEM extension eligibility gives you enough runway. For cap-exempt situations or TN status, processing through USCIS or the port of entry can move considerably faster, sometimes within weeks.
