Align your credentials to STV's project portfolio
STV works heavily in transportation, transit, and infrastructure consulting. Frame your resume around program-level delivery in those sectors. A PMP or PE credential alongside infrastructure experience signals direct fit for the roles they're actively filling.
Target STV's multi-discipline engineering programs first
STV often staffs Engineering Program Managers on long-duration public agency contracts, where headcount needs are planned well ahead. Applying to roles tied to active state or transit authority programs gives you the best chance of landing in a sponsorship-eligible position.
Confirm your OPT timeline before your first interview
If you're on F-1 OPT, map your remaining authorization window against STV's typical onboarding timeline. If your OPT expires within six months of your start date, flag STEM extension eligibility upfront so the hiring team can plan the H-1B filing without delays.
Ask about LCA filing during the offer stage
STV files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting any H-1B petition. Ask your recruiter when that process typically starts relative to your offer date. A gap between offer acceptance and LCA certification can delay your start, so getting clarity early protects your timeline.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Engineering Program Manager roles at STV
Search Migrate Mate's visa-filtered job board to surface active Engineering Program Manager openings at STV alongside their sponsorship history for this role type. It removes the guesswork of which postings are genuinely open to sponsored candidates.
Understand how PERM affects your long-term sponsorship path
STV sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for qualifying employees, which requires USCIS-supervised PERM labor certification. That process can take a year or more. Raise green card sponsorship intent during offer negotiations, not after you've started, so the timeline is set from day one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does STV sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Program Managers?
Yes, STV sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Program Manager roles. The process requires your employer to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting the H-1B petition to USCIS. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are tied to the annual lottery, timing your offer and filing relative to the April 1 registration window is critical for planning your start date.
How do I apply for Engineering Program Manager jobs at STV?
Applications go through STV's careers portal on their official website. Tailor your resume to reflect program-level delivery on infrastructure or transit projects, which aligns with the type of work STV staffs these roles on. You can also browse verified Engineering Program Manager openings at STV filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which surfaces active roles alongside sponsorship context.
Which visa types does STV commonly use for Engineering Program Manager roles?
STV sponsors a range of visa categories for this role, including H-1B, TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), F-1 OPT and CPT, J-1 visa, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. The right category depends on your nationality, degree field, and where you are in your immigration journey. TN visa can be a faster path for eligible candidates while H-1B is being pursued.
What qualifications does STV look for in Engineering Program Manager candidates?
STV typically expects a bachelor's degree or higher in civil, mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering discipline, alongside demonstrated program or project management experience on infrastructure contracts. A PMP certification or Professional Engineer license strengthens your application considerably. Experience managing multi-stakeholder delivery on transit, transportation, or public sector programs is a consistent signal of fit across their Engineering Program Manager openings.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an Engineering Program Manager at STV?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B sponsorship tied to the annual cap means your petition can't be filed until April, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest. TN classification can be obtained at a port of entry in a single day for qualifying nationals. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically runs one to three years from initiation through USCIS approval, not counting any priority date backlog.
