Align your credentials to STV's engineering scope
STV's Project Engineer roles span civil, structural, and mechanical disciplines tied to public infrastructure contracts. Before applying, verify your degree and any PE licensure align with the specific engineering discipline listed, since credential mismatch is the fastest way to lose sponsorship consideration early.
Target postings tied to active project contracts
STV's hiring for Project Engineers is largely driven by contract awards, not steady-state headcount. Roles tied to recently announced infrastructure or transit projects are more likely to include sponsorship budget than general pipeline postings, so prioritize those listings.
Use Migrate Mate to filter confirmed sponsoring roles
Not every Project Engineer posting at STV will explicitly state visa sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles where STV has an active sponsorship history for your visa type, saving time you'd otherwise spend on positions unlikely to move forward.
Confirm LCA wage compliance before the offer stage
STV must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for Project Engineers in your work location. If the role is in a high-cost metro, confirm the offer reflects that before signing, since underpaid offers create LCA compliance problems.
Clarify Green Card timing during offer negotiation
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, PERM labor certification can take a year or more before a petition is even filed. Ask during the offer stage whether STV initiates PERM at a defined tenure milestone, so you're not making long-term plans based on an undefined timeline.

Find Project Engineer at STV JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does STV sponsor H-1B visas for Project Engineers?
Yes, STV sponsors H-1B visas for Project Engineers. The company operates across consulting and infrastructure sectors where specialty occupation requirements for engineering roles are well established, which supports H-1B eligibility. Because STV participates in the annual H-1B cap process, timing your application around the April lottery window matters. Roles tied to active project contracts tend to move faster through internal approval.
Which visa types does STV commonly sponsor for Project Engineer roles?
STV sponsors a range of visa types for Project Engineers, including H-1B, F-1 OPT and CPT, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, J-1 for qualifying exchange visitors, and Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 categories. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree, and how far along you are in your career. TN is often the fastest path for eligible candidates since it bypasses the H-1B lottery.
What qualifications does STV expect for Project Engineer roles?
STV's Project Engineer postings typically require a bachelor's degree in civil, structural, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline. Relevant internship or project delivery experience in infrastructure or consulting environments strengthens your profile significantly. For certain roles, an EIT certification or progress toward a PE license is either preferred or required. Matching your technical background to the specific engineering discipline in the posting matters more than a generalist engineering resume.
How do I apply for Project Engineer jobs at STV?
You can browse and apply for Project Engineer roles at STV directly through their careers site or through Migrate Mate, which filters STV postings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. When applying, tailor your resume to the project sector listed in the posting, civil infrastructure reads differently from building systems, and address your work authorization status clearly so the recruiter doesn't screen you out on assumptions.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing H-1B sponsorship through STV?
USCIS opens H-1B registration in early March each year, with a lottery selection shortly after. To meet that window, you need an offer from STV in place by February at the latest. If you're finishing OPT, cap-gap protection allows you to keep working between your OPT expiration and an H-1B start date of October 1, provided USCIS receives a timely petition. Starting conversations with STV recruiters in the fall before your OPT ends gives the most runway.
