Partner Solutions Engineer
Adyen is looking for a Partner Solutions Engineer with a hands-on track record of working with technologies like APIs and front end development. You can plan and execute complex system integration projects, and your mastery of our technologies enables you to build and maintain deep technical relationships with our most important strategic partners. This role focuses on ensuring our partners can successfully leverage the full potential of the Adyen platform for their customers through expert technical guidance and problem solving, product roadmap alignment, and architectural recommendations.
As a Partner Solutions Engineer, you will be a subject matter expert in Adyen's product offerings down to the API level, enabling you to serve as the primary long-term technical counterpart for our partners' engineering and product management teams. Your goal is to ensure partners architect and implement solutions that deliver the best of Adyen, driving mutual success and innovation. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong stakeholder management skills to influence both partner implementations and Adyen's internal product development.
This role is critical in ensuring Adyen's platform is scalably supportable by our partners and that partner feedback effectively shapes our product evolution. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build lasting, influential relationships internally and with partners.
What you'll do:
- Utilize software development and programming expertise to help partners create robust, scalable solutions that deliver Adyen's products to their customers quickly and at high quality.
- Act as the long-term, trusted technical contact for partners' engineering and product teams, guiding them on Adyen's platform capabilities and integration best practices.
- Provide ongoing support for technical inquiries, hands-on assistance during the implementation process, and lead troubleshooting efforts to ensure the timely delivery of solutions.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of both Adyen's and key partners' product roadmaps. Provide strategic architectural recommendations to ensure partners optimally integrate Adyen's solutions, maximizing value for their end-customers.
- Collaborate with internal Product and Engineering stakeholders, advocating for partner needs and influencing Adyen's roadmap to enhance scalability and supportability for the Adyen product offering.
Who you are:
- Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL).
- 5-7+ years experience integrating and/or providing technical consultation when integrating with Web APIs or complex systems.
- Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies, understand complex systems (APIs, databases, SDKs, etc.), and a strong desire to continuously improve technical acumen.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable leading technical discussions and building rapport with engineering leaders and product managers.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong, long-term technical relationships with partners.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage technical stakeholders effectively, influence internal roadmaps, and make decisions by collaborating with the right people.
- Growth mindset with a bias toward action and strategic thinking.
Compensation

This role is based out of our Chicago office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
