Match your specialty to Clyde Co's practice groups
Clyde Co focuses on insurance, marine, energy, and casualty litigation. Before applying, map your legal background directly to one of these practice areas. A cover letter that speaks to their specific client base signals you understand the firm's work, not just U.S. law generally.
Verify your role qualifies as a specialty occupation
E-3 requires your position to demand at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. For legal roles at Clyde Co, attorney and legal specialist positions typically satisfy this. Check O*NET for your job title's education requirements before submitting any application materials.
Prepare your credential equivalency documentation early
Australian law degrees are assessed differently than U.S. J.D. programs. Clyde Co's HR team will need evidence your qualification meets the specialty occupation threshold. Get a credential evaluation completed before your final interview so there's no delay when the offer arrives.
Research prevailing wage requirements for your target office
Your E-3 salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to find the wage level for your job title in the city where Clyde Co's relevant office is based. Bring this data into salary discussions so you're negotiating from an informed position.
Use Migrate Mate to file your E-3 application cleanly
Once Clyde Co extends an offer and files the Labor Condition Application with DOL, you'll handle the consular application yourself. Migrate Mate assigns a dedicated E-3 visa expert to manage your filing at a flat fee, reducing back-and-forth with the firm's HR team during the process.
Confirm the LCA is certified before scheduling your consulate appointment
Your E-3 consulate interview requires a certified Labor Condition Application, which Clyde Co files with DOL. LCA certification typically takes seven business days. Don't book your consulate appointment until the certified LCA is in hand, or you'll need to reschedule and restart the queue.
Clyde & Co E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Clyde Co sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Clyde Co sponsors E-3 visas for qualified Australian legal professionals. The firm has U.S. offices across multiple cities and has sponsored E-3 visas for roles in its legal practice groups. Sponsorship is typically tied to specific hiring needs, so direct outreach to the recruiting team about E-3 eligibility is recommended.
Which roles at Clyde Co typically receive E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Clyde Co is most common for attorney and legal specialist roles within its core practice areas, including insurance, marine, energy, and casualty litigation. Support and administrative positions are less likely to qualify, as E-3 requires the role to demand a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field.
How do I start the E-3 application process after receiving an offer from Clyde Co?
After Clyde Co extends an offer, the firm's HR or legal team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. Once certified, you complete the DS-160 online, pay the MRV fee, and attend a consulate interview in Australia. Migrate Mate can manage this consular filing process on your behalf at a flat fee.
How long does E-3 sponsorship take at Clyde Co?
The LCA certification step typically takes around seven business days with DOL. After that, consulate appointment availability in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth determines the overall timeline. During standard periods, most applicants complete the full process within four to six weeks of receiving a certified LCA from Clyde Co.
How do I strengthen my E-3 application for a legal role at Clyde Co?
Align your application directly with Clyde Co's practice specialties rather than applying broadly. Prepare credential equivalency documentation for your Australian law degree early, and confirm your target role's education requirements using O*NET. Demonstrating familiarity with the firm's industry sectors, particularly insurance and marine law, gives your application clearer relevance.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Clyde Co?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
