Align your degree to Gruve's roles
E-3 requires a direct connection between your degree field and the job you're applying for. In Science & Research, that means pairing a relevant STEM degree with a role like research scientist or data analyst. Use O*NET to confirm the degree requirements listed for your target job title.
Request LCA filing before your start date
Gruve's HR or legal team must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before you can apply for your E-3 at a consulate. Build at least three to four weeks into your timeline for LCA certification so your consulate appointment isn't delayed by an unresolved filing.
Verify your prevailing wage before negotiating
Your offered salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for your occupation and work location. Run your job title through the OFLC Wage Search before salary discussions with Gruve so you're negotiating from a floor that won't disqualify the LCA filing.
Prepare a specialty occupation package early
Consular officers at Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth will scrutinize whether your role genuinely requires a specialized degree. Assemble your offer letter, degree transcripts, and a position description that maps job duties to your field of study before your appointment, not the night before.
Use Migrate Mate to manage your E-3 filing
Once Gruve extends an offer and the LCA is certified, use Migrate Mate to handle the E-3 paperwork. Their flat-fee service pairs you with a dedicated visa expert who prepares your documents and files within one business day, reducing back-and-forth with Gruve's HR team.
Clarify renewal expectations before accepting
E-3 visas are granted in two-year increments with no cap on renewals, but each renewal requires a new LCA and employer commitment. Ask Gruve explicitly whether they support indefinite renewals before you accept the offer, especially for project-based research roles with uncertain funding cycles.
Gruve Tech, Inc. E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Gruve sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Gruve has sponsored E-3 visas for Australian professionals. The company operates in the Science & Research sector and has filed Labor Condition Applications supporting E-3 candidates. Your strongest path is applying for roles where your degree field directly matches the job's stated requirements, which is what USCIS and consular officers look for.
Which roles at Gruve typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles in research, data science, engineering, and technical analysis tend to align best with E-3 specialty occupation requirements because they demand a specific degree field. Gruve's Science & Research focus means positions requiring STEM credentials are the most defensible for an E-3 filing. Generalist or management roles with no degree-field specificity are harder to support.
How do I start the E-3 application process at Gruve?
Once Gruve extends a written offer, their legal or HR team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. After LCA certification, you complete the DS-160 online, pay the consular fee, and schedule an interview at a U.S. consulate in Australia. Migrate Mate can coordinate the documentation and filing steps between you and Gruve's team.
How long does the E-3 process take at Gruve?
The LCA typically certifies within seven business days. After that, consulate appointment wait times in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth vary by season, but many applicants secure an interview within two to four weeks. From offer letter to visa stamp, the full process commonly runs four to six weeks for straightforward cases with complete documentation.
What should I bring to my E-3 consular interview for a Gruve role?
Bring your certified LCA, signed offer letter on company letterhead, DS-160 confirmation page, valid Australian passport, academic transcripts and degree certificate, and any credentials relevant to your research or technical role. USCIS and consular guidance emphasizes the degree-to-job match, so a brief written summary tying your field of study to your specific duties at Gruve strengthens your case.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Gruve?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
