Align your degree to the role
E-3 requires a direct connection between your degree field and the job. For construction and real estate roles at Knapp, a degree in civil engineering, architecture, or construction management gives you the strongest credential match for specialty occupation approval.
Research Knapp's active project pipeline
Knapp's hiring tends to follow project demand in construction and real estate development. Check which divisions are actively building or expanding before you apply, teams mid-project are more likely to move quickly on sponsorship approvals.
Verify your role qualifies as specialty occupation
Not every construction or real estate title clears the specialty occupation bar. Use O*NET to confirm your target role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, then frame your application materials around that requirement explicitly.
Check prevailing wage before salary negotiations
Knapp's LCA must certify that your offered salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Run your job title and ZIP code through the OFLC Wage Search before entering salary discussions so you're negotiating from an informed baseline.
Use Migrate Mate to find Knapp's E-3 filings
Search Knapp on Migrate Mate to see its verified DOL Labor Condition Application history by role and location. That data tells you which departments have sponsored E-3 visas before, so you can target your outreach to the teams most likely to sponsor again.
Prepare your LCA documents before the offer stage
Knapp's HR team can't begin the LCA filing with DOL until they have your job title, SOC code, worksite location, and start date confirmed. Arriving at the offer stage with that information ready cuts weeks off the sponsorship timeline.
Knapp E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Knapp sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Knapp sponsors E-3 visas for Australian professionals in specialty occupation roles within its construction and real estate operations. Sponsorship is tied to specific open roles rather than offered company-wide, so your best path is applying directly to positions where your technical or professional background aligns with the role's degree requirements.
Which roles at Knapp typically receive E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Knapp is most common in roles that require a relevant bachelor's degree, such as civil engineering, project management, construction technology, and real estate development positions. Roles that are more general or don't require a specific field of study are less likely to clear the specialty occupation threshold USCIS applies.
How do I start the E-3 application process at Knapp?
Once Knapp extends a conditional offer, their HR or legal team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. After LCA certification, you complete the DS-160, pay the MRV fee, and attend a consulate interview in Australia. Knapp doesn't file a petition with USCIS, the consular officer adjudicates your E-3 directly at the interview.
How long does E-3 sponsorship take at Knapp?
DOL typically certifies the LCA within seven business days. Consulate appointment wait times in Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth vary by season and workload. End-to-end from signed offer to visa stamp is often four to eight weeks for straightforward cases, though administrative processing can extend that timeline in some situations.
How do I find E-3 job openings at Knapp?
Search Knapp on Migrate Mate to see roles filtered for E-3 sponsorship eligibility alongside the company's verified LCA filing history. You can also apply directly through Knapp's careers page, but flagging your E-3 status early in the process helps their team assess sponsorship feasibility before investing in interviews.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Knapp?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
