About us
At LangChain, our mission is to make intelligent agents ubiquitous. We build the foundation for agent engineering in the real world, helping developers move from prototypes to production-ready AI agents that teams can rely on. We began as widely adopted open-source tools and have grown to also offer a platform for building, evaluating, deploying, and operating agents at scale.
With $125M raised at Series B from IVP, Sequoia, Benchmark, CapitalG, and Sapphire Ventures, we’re at a stage where we’re continuing to develop new products, growth is accelerating, and all team members have meaningful impact on what we build and how we work together. LangChain is a place where your contributions can shape how this technology shows up in the real world.
Today, LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith, and Fleet are used by teams shipping real AI products across startups and large enterprises. Millions of developers trust LangChain to power AI teams at companies like Replit, Clay, Coinbase, Workday, Lyft, Cloudflare, Harvey, Rippling, Vanta, and 35% of the Fortune 500.
About the role
We’re hiring a Senior Technical Support Engineer to lead our customer support experience for highly technical users, from AI engineers to infrastructure architects. You’ll be on the front lines helping teams debug production LLM applications and agents, improve AI observability and evaluations, and unblock critical issues. You’ll also help define what world-class technical support looks like for modern AI platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the go-to escalation point for technical support inquiries—diagnosing issues across customer setup, LangChain products, and deployment issues.
- Work directly with engineering, operations, documentation, and product teams to resolve bugs, suggest patches, and advocate for customer needs.
- Partner with Deployed Engineering to support critical enterprise customers.
- Build and refine internal tooling, diagnostics, and runbooks for complex issue triage.
- Lead post-mortems for critical incidents and feed learnings back into product and documentation.
- Help refine KPIs for support health (MTTR, CSAT, bug recurrence) and drive continuous improvement.
- Improve documentation and knowledge articles to improve 1-to-many resources and provide proactive support.
- Mentor and coach other support engineers.
How to be successful in this role
- 6+ years in technical support, solutions engineering, or SRE roles in deeply technical B2B environments (e.g., observability, infrastructure, data platforms).
- Expert troubleshooting skills across APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, and cloud-native stacks.
- Programming experience with Python. Bonus if you have TypeScript experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
- Comfort working with logs, traces, metrics in Datadog, and 3rd-party integrations (e.g., OpenTelemetry, LLM providers).
- Experience supporting enterprise customers and collaborating with engineering on complex escalations.
- A bias for clarity and continuous improvement: you write succinct, helpful, and accurate responses and build a foundation for case deflection.
- High ownership — want to do what’s best for the customer and the company and are relentlessly results oriented.
Location: Remote
Compensation
- Annual salary range: $130,000 - $195,000 USD
Compensation Philosophy:
We offer competitive compensation that includes base salary, variable compensation for relevant roles, meaningful equity, benefits, and perks. Actual compensation and offerings will vary based on role, level, and location. Team members in the EU, UK, and APAC receive locally competitive benefits aligned with regional norms and regulations.
Benefits
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible vacation, a 401(k) plan, meals on in-office days in the US and more.

Align your credentials to AI infrastructure roles
LangChain hires for roles building on large language models and AI tooling stacks. Before applying, map your degree and experience explicitly to software engineering, ML systems, or developer experience, the specialty occupation requirement demands a direct field match, not just general tech skills.
Verify prevailing wage before your first interview
Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the prevailing wage for your target role in LangChain's work location before salary discussions begin. Your E-3 LCA must certify at or above this figure, so knowing it upfront prevents offer-stage surprises.
Confirm E-3 willingness during the recruiter screen
At early-stage tech companies like LangChain, individual hiring managers sometimes drive sponsorship decisions. Ask the recruiter directly whether the role supports E-3 before completing take-home assessments, this saves time if the specific team isn't set up to file.
Use Migrate Mate to prepare your E-3 filing documents
Once LangChain extends an offer, your employer needs a certified LCA and you need supporting documents before your consular appointment. Migrate Mate handles the E-3 filing end-to-end, so you're not relying on a startup's HR team to navigate an unfamiliar process.
Prepare for a technical specialty occupation case
USCIS scrutinizes whether AI and developer tools roles require a degree in a specific field rather than any bachelor's degree. Pull the O*NET profile for your exact job title and document how your degree field directly maps to the role's core functions.
Time your consular appointment around LangChain's start date
E-3 visas are issued at the consulate, not through USCIS, so processing speed depends on your Australian post's availability. Book your appointment as soon as the LCA is certified, delays at peak times can push your start date by several weeks.
LangChain E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does LangChain sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, LangChain sponsors E-3 visas for qualified Australian nationals. The company operates in the AI and developer tools space and has filed for E-3 sponsorship in technical roles. As with most early-stage tech companies, sponsorship decisions are often role-specific, so confirming E-3 support during the recruiter stage is recommended.
Which roles at LangChain are most likely to qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Software engineering, machine learning engineering, and AI research roles are the strongest candidates for E-3 sponsorship at LangChain. These positions typically satisfy the specialty occupation requirement because they demand a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a directly related field. Product and developer experience roles may also qualify depending on the specific responsibilities.
How do I apply for an E-3 visa when I have a job offer from LangChain?
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL first. Once the LCA is certified, you complete your DS-160 and schedule a consular interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate in Australia. You bring the certified LCA, your offer letter, and supporting credentials to the interview. Migrate Mate can manage the LCA and filing documents on your behalf.
How long does the E-3 sponsorship process take with LangChain?
The DOL typically certifies an LCA within seven business days. After that, your timeline depends on consular appointment availability in Australia, which can range from a few days to several weeks depending on the post and time of year. Planning at least four to six weeks between offer acceptance and your start date is advisable.
Does LangChain also sponsor H-1B visas, and how does that affect my E-3 options?
LangChain sponsors both H-1B visa and E-3 visas. As an Australian national, the E-3 is generally faster and more predictable since it bypasses the H-1B lottery. If you're already in the U.S. on another status, discuss with LangChain's HR team which pathway applies to your situation, as change-of-status versus consular processing rules differ.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at LangChain?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
