Job Description:
At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money— we're here to move our global customers forward.
We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that's you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders.
About the Role:
As a Senior AI Software Engineer on the High Value Send Experience team, you will build the systems that earn the trust of Remitly's high value senders. These are customers moving large transfers for real estate, education, long-term investments, and other milestones that shape their financial futures across borders. This full-stack role spans customer-facing web and mobile experiences and deep partnership with foundational teams across identity and trust, money movement, pricing, and more. You'll partner with product, design, and engineering peers to define what it means to earn customer trust on their most consequential transfers - for customers sending more, with more on the line. You will report to the Engineering Manager for the team.
You Will:
- Champion the customer experience by using customer signal, product instincts, and data to inform technical decisions - translating what high value senders need into the systems that serve them.
- Own technical design and architecture for complex systems that power the High Value Send experience - breaking down ambiguous, greenfield problems into clear technical strategies and delivering 0-to-1 product experiences.
- Raise the bar for delivering reliable, observable, and scalable systems across web, mobile, and backend services that meet strict availability and latency SLOs for the customer flows where trust matters most.
- Operate AI-natively because it's how one person outships a team of ten.
- Partner with product, design, analytics, and partner engineering teams to translate goals into scalable technical solutions for a diverse global customer base.
- Drive an engineering culture of excellence by mentoring teammates, driving technical decision making, upholding architecture standards, and setting and advocating for best practices in coding, testing, and system design as we grow this team.
You Have:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, with experience building and operating systems end-to-end.
- Expertise building customer-facing experiences at product scale with TypeScript, React, and native mobile development (iOS/Android, React Native).
- Expertise in one or more modern backend languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python, with a record of delivering production-quality code.
- Use AI tools in your own software development workflow to reimagine software delivery. From leveraging agents that act as force-multipliers that help you scale, to drafting and iterating on technical specs, prototyping or validating concepts using the Claude Code.
- Demonstrated experience designing and building distributed, large-scale domains with architecture segmentation that enables the next level of product scale.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including familiarity with managed services.
- Bonus: Experience in FinTech, payments, or other regulated industries where reliability, security, and compliance shape engineering decisions.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Remitly E-3 Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Frame your fintech credentials precisely
Remitly operates at the intersection of financial services and technology. Before applying, map your degree and experience to roles like software engineer, product manager, or data analyst, specializations that consistently appear in their E-3 filings.
Target engineering and product teams directly
Remitly's E-3 hires tend to cluster in technical and product functions rather than operations or support. Filter your job search to roles requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field, which is the core specialty occupation requirement USCIS evaluates.
Verify your role qualifies as specialty occupation
Before your interview, confirm your target role meets the specialty occupation standard. Cross-reference the job description against O*NET occupation profiles to establish that a directly related degree is the normal entry requirement for that position.
Align your salary expectations with prevailing wage
Remitly must certify a Labor Condition Application with DOL before filing your E-3 petition. Use the OFLC Wage Search to find the prevailing wage for your occupation and work location so your offer letter meets the threshold before you negotiate.
Use Migrate Mate to check Remitly's LCA filing history
Before you apply, search Remitly's employer profile on Migrate Mate to review their Labor Condition Application filings by role and location. This tells you which job titles they've sponsored and what wage levels they've certified, so you can target the right openings.
Prepare for consular processing from Australia
Unlike most U.S. work visas, E-3 applications are processed directly at a U.S. consulate in Australia, no USCIS petition is required first. Once Remitly certifies the LCA, you can schedule your consular interview, which significantly shortens the overall timeline compared to H-1B processing.
Remitly E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Remitly sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Remitly sponsors E-3 visas for eligible Australian professionals. The company operates in the fintech and digital payments space, which generates consistent demand for specialty occupation roles in software engineering, data, and product management. E-3 eligibility still requires a qualified job offer, a certified LCA, and a degree in a field directly related to the role.
Which roles at Remitly typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Remitly's E-3 sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical and product functions, including software engineering, machine learning, data science, and product management. These roles tend to require a bachelor's degree in a specific field, which satisfies the specialty occupation definition USCIS applies when evaluating E-3 petitions. Operations and customer-facing roles are less likely to qualify.
How do I start the E-3 application process at Remitly?
After receiving a job offer, Remitly's immigration team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL. Once the LCA is certified, you schedule a visa interview at a U.S. consulate in Australia and bring the certified LCA, your DS-160, offer letter, degree credentials, and other supporting documents. No USCIS filing is required before your consular appointment. You can use Migrate Mate to handle the filing paperwork and preparation.
How long does the E-3 process take at Remitly?
The LCA certification from DOL typically takes around seven business days. After that, your consular appointment wait time depends on the consulate location and current scheduling availability. In most cases, Australian applicants can complete the full process within a few weeks, making E-3 significantly faster than H-1B visa sponsorship. Build in extra time if you're scheduling during peak periods.
How do I know if a Remitly job posting is open to E-3 sponsorship?
Not all Remitly postings explicitly state visa sponsorship availability. Look for roles that require a specific bachelor's degree in a field like computer science, finance, or data science, since those are most likely to meet the specialty occupation standard. If a posting is ambiguous, raise sponsorship early in the recruiter screen before investing time in later interview rounds.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Remitly?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
