Target project-based engineering and management roles
Turner's E-3 filings concentrate in construction management, civil engineering, and project controls. Search their careers page using these exact titles rather than broad terms, you'll surface roles where their HR team already knows the E-3 process.
Verify your degree aligns with the job posting
Turner's E-3 roles require a specialty occupation match, meaning your Australian degree must correspond directly to the position. Cross-reference the job description against your qualification using O*NET to confirm the field-to-degree alignment before applying.
Ask about LCA status before accepting an offer
Before you sign anything, confirm your hiring manager has looped in Turner's immigration team. The Labor Condition Application must be certified by DOL before your visa appointment, and delays here are the most common bottleneck in large contractor hiring pipelines.
Confirm Turner uses E-Verify for your work site
As a federal contractor, Turner is E-Verify enrolled, which means your work authorization will be verified electronically on day one. Bring your passport and E-3 visa stamp to onboarding, Turner's HR will initiate the E-Verify case within three business days of your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to check Turner's LCA filing history
Before your interview, use Migrate Mate to review Turner's Labor Condition Application records by role and location. This tells you which job titles and office locations have active E-3 filings, so you can tailor your application to where sponsorship is already established.
Prepare for a consular appointment, not a USCIS filing
Turner doesn't file a petition with USCIS for E-3 visas. You'll attend a consular interview in Australia with a certified LCA and job offer letter. Book your appointment at the earliest available date, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth wait times vary and can run several weeks.
Turner Construction Company E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Turner Construction Company sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, Turner Construction Company sponsors E-3 visas for eligible Australian nationals. Their immigration program covers construction management, engineering, and project controls roles. Turner's size as a national general contractor means their HR and legal teams are experienced with the E-3 process, including LCA filing and consular documentation requirements.
Which roles at Turner Construction Company are eligible for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship at Turner typically applies to specialty occupation roles requiring a relevant bachelor's degree, including project engineers, construction managers, cost managers, and scheduling analysts. Roles in corporate functions like finance, IT, and business development may also qualify depending on the position's degree requirements and Turner's internal immigration approvals.
How do I start the E-3 visa process once Turner makes me an offer?
Once Turner extends an offer, their immigration team files a Labor Condition Application with DOL on your behalf. After DOL certifies the LCA, you schedule a consular interview at a U.S. embassy in Australia, bringing the certified LCA, your offer letter, and supporting credentials. You can use Migrate Mate to prepare and review your filing documents before the appointment.
How long does it take to get an E-3 visa through Turner Construction Company?
The timeline depends on two main variables: how quickly Turner's team files and receives DOL certification for the LCA, and your consular appointment availability in Australia. LCA certification typically takes around seven business days. Consular wait times vary by location and season, so factoring four to eight weeks from offer to visa stamp is a reasonable planning window.
Which Turner Construction Company offices or regions typically hire E-3 candidates?
Turner operates across all major U.S. markets, with particularly active hiring in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and Washington D.C. E-3 sponsorship availability depends on active project pipelines rather than fixed regional quotas, so targeting offices with large commercial or healthcare construction programs increases your chances of finding an open, sponsorship-ready role.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at Turner Construction Company?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
