Align your degree to UWM's role requirements
E-3 requires a specialty occupation, your degree field must directly relate to the specific role. For UWM's finance and mortgage operations positions, a degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field strengthens your specialty occupation case from the start.
Target technology and data roles specifically
UWM's tech division runs substantial engineering and data operations supporting its wholesale platform. Software engineering, data science, and systems analyst roles fit cleanly within E-3 specialty occupation criteria and represent where active sponsorship is most likely.
Confirm E-3 willingness during the offer stage
Before accepting any offer, ask UWM's recruiting team directly whether they'll file an E-3 Labor Condition Application through DOL. Getting written confirmation early prevents late-stage surprises, since LCA certification must happen before your consulate appointment.
Use Migrate Mate to verify UWM's LCA filing history
Search UWM's Labor Condition Application filings through Migrate Mate to see which job titles and wage levels they've submitted to DOL. That data tells you which roles UWM has actually sponsored and helps you target your application to the right departments.
Check prevailing wage before salary negotiations
DOL requires UWM to pay the prevailing wage for your role and location. Look up the wage level for your occupation using the OFLC Wage Search before your offer conversation so you can negotiate from a grounded position rather than guessing.
Prepare your credential equivalency documentation early
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees, but UWM's HR team may request an official credential evaluation. Getting an evaluation from a USCIS-recognized credential assessment service before you receive an offer avoids delays.
United Wholesale Mortgage E-3 Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does United Wholesale Mortgage sponsor E-3 visas?
Yes, United Wholesale Mortgage sponsors E-3 visas. The company works with multiple visa types across its operations, and Australian professionals applying for roles in mortgage finance, technology, compliance, and data analysis can request E-3 sponsorship during the offer stage. Confirming sponsorship intent early in the process with the recruiting team is the most reliable way to move forward.
Which departments at United Wholesale Mortgage are most likely to sponsor E-3 visas?
UWM's technology and data teams, along with its financial operations and compliance functions, are the areas where E-3 sponsorship is most commonly pursued. Roles requiring a specific degree in fields like software engineering, finance, accounting, or data science satisfy the specialty occupation requirement that E-3 visa filings depend on.
How do I start the E-3 application process after receiving an offer from United Wholesale Mortgage?
Once UWM extends an offer and confirms sponsorship, the company files a Labor Condition Application with DOL for certification. After LCA certification, you complete the DS-160, pay the MRV fee, and attend a consulate interview in Australia. The employer's HR or legal team handles the LCA; your job is to prepare supporting documents including your degree, resume, and the certified LCA for the interview.
How long does E-3 sponsorship take at United Wholesale Mortgage?
DOL typically certifies an LCA within seven business days when filed electronically. Consulate appointment wait times vary by location and season but often run two to six weeks at Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth. From the time UWM files the LCA to when you receive your visa stamp, the full process usually takes four to eight weeks, depending on consulate workload.
How do I find open E-3 roles at United Wholesale Mortgage?
Search UWM's careers page for open positions in technology, finance, or operations, then cross-reference with Migrate Mate to see which job titles align with UWM's historical E-3 Labor Condition Application filings. That combination tells you which roles UWM has actually sponsored before and which are worth pursuing for E-3 applicants specifically.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 sponsorship at United Wholesale Mortgage?
E-3 employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, determined when they file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, ensuring Australian hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
