Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the University’s accounting operations by managing the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, reviewing operating statements, and completing detailed account reconciliations. You will investigate variances, resolve discrepancies, and ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and properly documented. This role also includes preparing cash projections, assisting with treasury functions, and maintaining strong financial controls. You will work closely with the Controller by providing clear, reliable financial analysis that supports reporting, planning, and sound decision-making across the institution.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will bring a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience), along with a minimum of three years of detailed accounting experience. Expertise with general ledger accounting, month-end close activities, and account reconciliations is required, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is important, and experience working in an ERP or accounting system, including Jenzabar, is a plus. Experience in a higher education or nonprofit environment is strongly preferred.
