Verify Your Credentials Before Applying
Most U.S. nursing roles require NCLEX-RN passage and state licensure before a visa petition can move forward. Get your foreign nursing credentials evaluated through a CGFNS-recognized body early so Elderwood's HR team isn't waiting on you.
Target Elderwood Locations With Active Openings
Elderwood operates across multiple facilities, and sponsorship decisions often happen at the facility level. Prioritize locations with multiple open nursing requisitions, since those sites are actively building headcount and more likely to engage on sponsorship.
Understand Elderwood's H-1B Filing Window
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. If you receive an offer after the registration window closes, negotiate a conditional start tied to the next fiscal year cycle so neither side loses the opportunity.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Sponsored Nursing Roles
Not every Elderwood posting flags visa sponsorship explicitly. Use Migrate Mate to filter nursing openings at Elderwood by visa type so you only spend time on roles where sponsorship is genuinely on the table.

Find Nursing at Elderwood JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Elderwood sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Yes, Elderwood has sponsored H-1B visas for nursing roles. Because H-1B nursing petitions involve both DOL Labor Condition Application certification and USCIS approval, the process takes advance planning on both sides. Engage the recruiting team early so the employer can initiate the LCA before any federal deadlines arrive.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Elderwood?
Applications go through Elderwood's careers portal, where you can filter by role type and location. When you apply, clearly state your visa status and sponsorship needs in your cover materials. Nursing candidates who surface their authorization requirements upfront move through screening faster because recruiters can loop in HR compliance from the start.
Which visa types does Elderwood commonly use for Nursing roles?
Elderwood has worked with H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visa categories for nursing positions. TN is the most streamlined option for Canadian and Mexican nurses since it bypasses the H-1B lottery. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates, though the 12-month standard OPT window means you'll need to coordinate an H-1B filing quickly.
What qualifications does Elderwood expect for sponsored Nursing positions?
Elderwood generally looks for RN licensure in the relevant state, NCLEX-RN passage, and hands-on clinical experience in a care or rehabilitation setting. Foreign-educated nurses should also have their credentials evaluated through a recognized body before applying, as USCIS and state nursing boards both require documentation of educational equivalency.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Nursing role at Elderwood?
Timelines vary by visa type. TN status can be secured at the port of entry in a single day for eligible candidates. H-1B petitions filed under the regular track take roughly three to five months for USCIS adjudication, while premium processing cuts that to 15 business days. Build those windows into your start date negotiation with Elderwood. Migrate Mate can help you identify which open roles at Elderwood are actively sponsoring so you don't lose time on listings that won't move forward.
