Target technical and clinical roles first
Elekta's sponsorship activity is concentrated in engineering, software, and clinical applications roles that support its radiation therapy products. Prioritize these functions when applying, as they align most closely with the company's core hiring needs and sponsorship history.
Understand the H-1B timeline relative to Elekta's hiring cycle
Elekta's H-1B filings follow the annual USCIS cap cycle. If you're targeting a full-time role, start conversations with their recruiting team early in the calendar year so an offer and petition can be filed before the April registration window closes.
Highlight domain expertise in radiation oncology or medical imaging
Elekta's products sit at the intersection of hardware, software, and clinical workflow. Candidates who can speak to oncology treatment planning, linear accelerator systems, or medical imaging technology stand out in a competitive field of applicants.
Explore OPT and CPT pathways as an entry point
Elekta sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, making it accessible for international students before the H-1B lottery. Internships and co-ops in clinical, software, or field service roles are a proven way to build a relationship that leads to full-time sponsorship.
Canadian professionals should ask about TN eligibility
Elekta sponsors TN visas, which is a faster and cap-exempt alternative for Canadian citizens in qualifying roles like engineers or scientists. If you hold Canadian citizenship and a relevant degree, raise TN eligibility early in discussions with the recruiter.
Search Migrate Mate to filter verified Elekta openings
Elekta sponsors across multiple visa categories, but not every role qualifies. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and focus your applications on positions where international candidates have a realistic path to authorization.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Elekta sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Elekta sponsors H-1B visas and has a consistent track record of doing so. The company primarily sponsors technical and clinical roles tied to its radiation therapy and oncology product lines. If you're targeting an H-1B, aim to secure an offer well before the April registration window, as Elekta follows the standard cap-subject petition cycle.
What visa types does Elekta sponsor?
Elekta sponsors H-1B visas for specialty occupation roles, Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term employees, TN visas for qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for international students. The mix of visa types makes Elekta a flexible option depending on where you are in your immigration journey.
Which departments or roles at Elekta are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Elekta is most common in roles that require specialized technical or clinical expertise, including software engineering, systems engineering, clinical applications, and field service positions supporting radiation therapy equipment. Research and regulatory roles in the medical device space also see sponsorship activity. Generalist or administrative positions are less commonly sponsored.
How do I find open roles at Elekta that offer visa sponsorship?
The most reliable approach is to use Migrate Mate, which tracks verified sponsorship history by employer so you can confirm Elekta's active visa types before applying. Once you've identified target roles, apply directly through Elekta's careers portal and note your visa requirements clearly in your application or initial recruiter conversation.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored by Elekta?
Elekta hires for a specialized niche at the intersection of medical technology and clinical care, so deep domain knowledge matters. Candidates with hands-on experience in radiation oncology, medical imaging, or regulated medical device environments are well positioned. If you're a student, pursuing OPT or CPT with Elekta first is one of the most effective ways to build toward a full-time sponsored role.
