Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Product Engineer Jobs at Figma Jobs
Frame your portfolio around design tooling
Figma evaluates Product Engineers on their ability to build at the product layer, not just ship features. Showcase projects where you owned UI systems, rendering performance, or developer-facing APIs to match what their teams actually work on.
Verify Figma's LCA filings before your interview
DOL Labor Condition Applications are public record. Searching Figma's LCA disclosures for Product Engineer titles confirms the wage levels they've certified, so you can enter salary conversations with accurate expectations rather than guessing.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation early
For specialty occupation petitions, USCIS requires a direct tie between your degree field and the Product Engineer role. If your degree is in a related but non-obvious field, gather course transcripts and any relevant credential evaluations before the offer stage.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Product Engineer roles
Figma posts across multiple engineering tracks and not every listing is easy to find in one place. Use Migrate Mate to browse Figma's current Product Engineer openings filtered by visa sponsorship type, so you're only applying to roles that match your status.
Align your offer timing with Figma's hiring cycles
Product Engineer roles at Figma tend to open in concentrated waves around roadmap planning periods. Securing an offer and completing PERM or I-140 groundwork before a fiscal quarter closes gives your employer more runway for filing without rushed timelines.

Find Product Engineer at Figma JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Figma sponsor H-1B visas for Product Engineers?
Yes, Figma sponsors H-1B visas for Product Engineers. The company has an established pattern of filing H-1B petitions for engineering roles, including cap-subject petitions for candidates transitioning from F-1 OPT and transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer. Confirming sponsorship intent with the recruiter early in the process is the most reliable way to avoid surprises.
Which visa types does Figma commonly use for Product Engineer roles?
Figma sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for most engineering hires, along with the E-3 visa for Australian citizens and F-1 OPT for recent graduates. For candidates seeking permanent residence, Figma supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which typically involve PERM labor certification filed through the DOL followed by an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS.
How do I apply for Product Engineer jobs at Figma?
You can find and apply for Product Engineer roles at Figma through Migrate Mate, which aggregates Figma's open positions filtered by visa sponsorship type. Before applying, review the specific role's responsibilities carefully since Figma distinguishes between product-layer engineers who work on the application itself and platform engineers who build infrastructure. Tailoring your resume to the relevant track improves your chances of passing the initial screen.
What qualifications does Figma expect for Product Engineer candidates?
Figma's Product Engineer roles generally require a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B purposes. Beyond credentials, Figma prioritizes candidates with experience in TypeScript or Rust, familiarity with browser rendering pipelines, and a track record of building features that interact directly with design workflows or real-time collaboration systems.
How do I plan my timeline if I need Figma to file an H-1B for me?
If you're applying for a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS opens registration in March with an April 1 filing deadline for an October 1 start date. That means securing your offer and completing LCA certification through the DOL several weeks before the April deadline. If you're already on OPT, your employer can file before your current authorization expires and use the cap-gap rule to bridge any gap in work authorization.
