Target faculty and research roles first
FGCU's sponsorship activity is concentrated in academic and research positions. Faculty, postdoctoral, and research-focused roles in science, technology, and professional disciplines are where H-1B and Green Card sponsorship is most consistently offered.
Understand the university's H-1B hiring cycle
Universities like FGCU typically hire on an academic calendar. Applications for fall semester positions often open in late winter. Timing your outreach and applications to align with this cycle improves your chances of landing a sponsored role.
Search by visa type to find verified sponsorship
Not every university role includes sponsorship, and listings rarely say so upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and find FGCU openings where H-1B or Green Card support is confirmed.
Connect with FGCU's international faculty office early
FGCU's international services team handles visa processing in-house. Reaching out before you formally apply signals awareness of the process and helps you understand department-level sponsorship decisions before committing significant time to an application.
