Target technical and engineering roles first
FTAI Aviation's sponsorship activity is concentrated in specialized technical functions. Aerospace engineers, maintenance technicians, and operations analysts are the strongest fit for sponsored roles, prioritize these functions when searching for open positions.
Understand FTAI's business before you apply
FTAI focuses on aircraft leasing, engine MRO, and aviation infrastructure. Demonstrating knowledge of their asset-light model and engine leasing business signals genuine industry interest, which matters more to niche aerospace employers than to large tech companies.
Leverage OPT and CPT early in the relationship
FTAI Aviation sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, which can be an effective entry point. Starting on OPT gives you time to demonstrate value before the company commits to a full H-1B petition, a common path at sponsors of this size.
Apply with timing in mind
For H-1B sponsorship, coordinate your application timeline around the April lottery registration window. Joining FTAI on OPT by mid-year gives the employer a full cycle to prepare your H-1B registration before the next cap season opens.
Filter by verified sponsorship history before applying
Aerospace employers can be harder to vet than large tech firms. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you confirm FTAI's track record before investing time in an application.
Highlight cross-functional aerospace skills in your resume
FTAI operates across leasing, MRO, and asset management. Candidates who can bridge technical aerospace knowledge with business or financial acumen stand out at a company where sponsored roles often require both engineering depth and commercial awareness.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does FTAI Aviation sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, FTAI Aviation sponsors H-1B visas. Their sponsorship activity is focused on specialized technical and engineering roles within the aerospace and defense sector. FTAI is not among the highest-volume H-1B sponsors, so competition for available roles is real, candidates with niche aviation or MRO expertise are best positioned to secure sponsorship.
Which visa types does FTAI Aviation sponsor?
FTAI Aviation sponsors H-1B visas along with F-1 OPT and CPT work authorization. They also support TN visas, making them a viable option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. Green Card sponsorship has not been a consistent part of their recent sponsorship activity, so long-term permanent residency support is not guaranteed.
What types of roles at FTAI Aviation are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at FTAI Aviation is most common in technically specialized positions tied to their core business, aircraft leasing, engine maintenance, repair and overhaul, and aviation asset management. Engineering, operations, and finance roles with direct relevance to aerospace infrastructure are the most competitive. Generalist or administrative positions are unlikely to trigger sponsorship at a company of this size.
How do I find open sponsored roles at FTAI Aviation?
Migrate Mate is the most reliable way to find verified sponsored roles at FTAI Aviation. It filters job listings by actual sponsorship history, so you're not guessing whether a company will sponsor, you can see FTAI's confirmed track record and browse current openings that align with the visa types they actively support.
How do I approach the application timeline when targeting FTAI Aviation for H-1B sponsorship?
The H-1B cap runs on a fixed annual cycle, with USCIS registration opening each March for an October 1 start date. To maximize your chances at FTAI, aim to secure an offer and begin the process no later than January or February of the target year. Starting on F-1 OPT or CPT beforehand gives both you and the employer time to prepare the petition without rushing.
