Align your credentials to U.S. trade standards
Garver's consulting environment often requires mechanics who can document competency in specific equipment systems. Gather certifications, maintenance logs, and employer letters that translate your overseas experience into terms a U.S. hiring manager and immigration attorney can evaluate clearly.
Target Garver's infrastructure project pipeline
Garver staffs mechanics across long-term civil and transportation projects, not just office functions. Research their active project regions and apply to postings tied to specific fieldwork, since those roles carry stronger internal justification for sponsorship than general maintenance positions.
Browse open Mechanic roles through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Garver's open Mechanic positions by visa type. This lets you confirm which roles are actively sponsoring before you invest time in tailoring your application, saving weeks of back-and-forth with recruiters.
Clarify your OPT or TN status early
If you're on F-1 OPT or hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, Garver sponsors both. Raise your current authorization status in the first recruiter conversation so the team can route you to the correct internal process before an offer is extended.
Understand the H-1B cap and Garver's filing window
H-1B petitions for cap-subject workers must be submitted in April for an October start. If you receive an offer outside that window, ask Garver's HR team whether your role qualifies for cap-exempt filing or whether an interim status like OPT extension can bridge the gap.
Prepare for PERM if you're targeting a Green Card
Garver sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which require DOL's PERM labor certification process. This involves advertising the role to confirm no qualified U.S. workers are available, so document your specialized skills thoroughly to support the employer's recruitment record from day one.

Find Mechanic at Garver JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Garver sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanics?
Yes, Garver sponsors H-1B visas and has a consistent record of filing across technical and field roles including Mechanics. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions follow a strict April registration window with an October 1 start date, timing your offer and onboarding timeline around that cycle is essential. Confirm with Garver's HR team whether your specific role is cap-subject or falls under a cap-exempt category.
How do I apply for Mechanic jobs at Garver?
Applications go through Garver's careers portal, where Mechanic postings are listed by region and project type. When applying, be explicit about your work authorization status and the visa category you'll need. Garver's recruiting team is experienced with international candidates, so flagging your situation upfront prevents delays and ensures your application reaches the right internal contacts.
Which visa types does Garver commonly use for Mechanic roles?
Garver sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, EB-2, and EB-3 for its workforce. For Mechanic roles, TN is a practical option for Canadian and Mexican nationals given its straightforward process, while H-1B suits those seeking a longer-term sponsored status. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways are available for mechanics who build tenure with the company.
What qualifications does Garver expect for Mechanic positions?
Garver's Mechanic roles typically require hands-on experience with heavy equipment, vehicles, or specialized systems relevant to infrastructure and consulting projects. Formal trade certifications strengthen your application considerably. Because immigration sponsorship requires demonstrating that the role meets specialty standards, documenting your technical training and field experience with specific equipment types makes the internal approval process smoother.
How do I find and track Mechanic openings at Garver that offer visa sponsorship?
The fastest way is to use Migrate Mate, which aggregates Garver's Mechanic job postings and filters them by visa sponsorship type. This removes the guesswork of identifying which listings are actively open to sponsored candidates. Once you identify a role, you can move quickly on your application knowing the sponsorship pathway is already confirmed for that position.
