Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Manufacturing roles at GPC that qualify for H-1B sponsorship must meet USCIS specialty occupation criteria. Make sure your degree is in a field directly tied to the role, such as industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or supply chain management, not a general field.
Target roles in GPC's distribution and engineering functions
GPC's Manufacturing openings often sit within their distribution network and process improvement teams. Focus your search on roles that reference continuous improvement, production planning, or engineering, where specialized technical degrees carry more weight in sponsorship decisions.
Use Migrate Mate to filter GPC's open Manufacturing roles
Searching broadly wastes time on roles without sponsorship pathways. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Manufacturing positions at GPC that have active visa sponsorship, so you're applying where authorization is already on the table.
Prepare your TN documentation before the offer stage
If you're a Canadian or Mexican citizen, TN status is often the fastest path into a GPC Manufacturing role. Have your degree certificates, a detailed job offer letter specifying your professional category, and employment start date ready before negotiations close.
Understand GPC's PERM timeline for permanent residency
If your goal is a Green Card through EB-2 or EB-3, PERM labor certification requires GPC to document a recruitment process before DOL filing. This takes months, so raise long-term sponsorship intent during the offer stage, not after you've started.
Verify your OPT work authorization covers your start date
F-1 OPT authorization for Manufacturing roles must be tied to a STEM-eligible position to qualify for the 24-month extension. Confirm your role's SOC code qualifies under the STEM OPT list before accepting an offer to avoid a gap in work authorization.

Find Manufacturing at Genuine Parts Company JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Genuine Parts Company sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturings?
Yes, Genuine Parts Company sponsors H-1B visas for Manufacturing roles that meet USCIS specialty occupation requirements. Qualifying positions typically involve specialized knowledge in areas like industrial engineering, process management, or supply chain operations and require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Your degree and job duties both need to align for a petition to hold up under USCIS scrutiny.
How do I apply for Manufacturing jobs at Genuine Parts Company?
You can find open Manufacturing roles at GPC through their careers portal. For a faster path to visa-sponsoring positions, Migrate Mate filters GPC job listings specifically for roles with active sponsorship support, so you're not spending time applying to postings where authorization isn't available. Tailor your resume to highlight technical skills in production, engineering, or supply chain that match the specific role.
Which visa types does Genuine Parts Company commonly use for Manufacturing roles?
GPC sponsors a range of visa categories for Manufacturing positions, including H-1B for specialty occupation roles, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, J-1 for trainees, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for candidates pursuing permanent residency. The right category depends on your nationality, education, and career stage.
What qualifications does Genuine Parts Company expect for sponsored Manufacturing roles?
GPC's sponsored Manufacturing roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, operations management, or a closely related field. Practical experience in automotive parts distribution, lean manufacturing, or process improvement is a strong differentiator. For H-1B eligibility, your degree must be in a specialty directly tied to the job duties, not a general field of study.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a GPC Manufacturing role?
Timeline depends heavily on the visa type. H-1B cap-subject petitions follow an annual lottery with an October 1 start date, meaning you could wait up to a year. TN status for Canadian citizens can be obtained at the border on the day of hire. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically takes one to three years from filing to approval, excluding any visa backlog wait times.
