Frame your experience around indirect procurement
Google's procurement teams frequently manage software licensing, cloud services, and professional services spend. Positioning your background around indirect or technology procurement, rather than manufacturing or goods-based supply chain, aligns your credentials with the roles they actually hire for.
Earn a CPSM or CIPS certification before applying
Google's Procurement Manager job postings consistently reference professional procurement certifications as preferred qualifications. Holding a CPSM or CIPS credential before you apply signals readiness and can strengthen a sponsorship case by establishing your specialty occupation standing under USCIS criteria.
Target Google's vendor management and sourcing subfunctions
Within Google's procurement org, vendor management and strategic sourcing roles convert to sponsorship more predictably than generalist titles. Search specifically for these subfunctions when browsing open roles to find positions where Google's sponsorship process is already well-established.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Google's open procurement roles
Browsing Google's full job board makes it difficult to isolate roles open to visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate lets you filter directly for Procurement Manager positions at Google where sponsorship is confirmed, saving significant time during your search.
Negotiate your start date around H-1B cap timelines
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS only accepts petitions in April for an October 1 start. During your offer negotiation, confirm whether Google will file under cap-exempt status or whether you need to align your start date to the next available cap season.
Request an E-3 or H-1B1 if you hold the right nationality
Australian and Singaporean or Chilean nationals qualify for the E-3 and H-1B1 respectively, both of which avoid the H-1B lottery entirely. If you qualify, raise this with Google's recruiting team early so their immigration counsel can file the most efficient petition type for your situation.

Find Procurement Manager at Google JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Procurement Managers?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Procurement Manager roles. Procurement management qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines because it requires at least a bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related field. Google works with experienced immigration counsel to file H-1B petitions, and the role category has an established sponsorship history within the company.
How do I apply for Procurement Manager jobs at Google?
Applications go through Google's careers portal at careers.google.com, where you search for Procurement Manager or related sourcing and vendor management titles. Tailoring your resume to reflect technology procurement experience, particularly in indirect spend categories like software and professional services, improves your chances of passing initial screening. Migrate Mate also surfaces Google's open procurement roles filtered for visa sponsorship eligibility.
Which visa types does Google use to sponsor Procurement Managers?
Google sponsors Procurement Managers under the H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visa categories. H-1B is the most common and is available to nationals of all countries, though it requires winning the annual lottery unless you qualify for cap-exempt filing. H-1B1 applies to Singaporean and Chilean nationals, while E-3 applies to Australian citizens. Both H-1B1 and E-3 bypass the lottery entirely.
What qualifications does Google expect for sponsored Procurement Manager roles?
Google typically looks for a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, finance, or a closely related field, combined with several years of hands-on procurement experience. Familiarity with indirect procurement categories such as software licensing, cloud infrastructure contracts, or professional services is particularly relevant. Professional certifications like CPSM or CIPS are frequently listed as preferred qualifications and can also support your specialty occupation classification with USCIS.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Google Procurement Manager role?
Timeline depends on the visa type. For a cap-subject H-1B, the process runs from the April lottery registration to an October 1 start date, roughly six months. Google offers premium processing in many cases, which reduces USCIS adjudication to 15 business days once the petition is filed. E-3 and H-1B1 petitions avoid the lottery and can move faster, often within four to eight weeks from offer acceptance to visa issuance.
