Frame your biotech BD credentials precisely
GRAIL's business development work centers on licensing, strategic alliances, and payer partnerships in oncology diagnostics. Tailor your resume to show experience with deal structures or commercialization in a regulated life sciences context, not general sales or account management.
Confirm your degree supports specialty occupation classification
H-1B eligibility for BD roles in biotech requires a degree in a directly related field. Life sciences, biomedical engineering, or business with a science concentration all support this. A general business degree alone can create complications during USCIS adjudication for this role type.
Target GRAIL's partnership and payer-facing teams
GRAIL recruits BD professionals to manage health system relationships and payer access for Galleri and other diagnostic products. Applying to roles with a clear commercialization or alliance management scope improves your fit for sponsorship-eligible positions within this specific function.
Understand TN eligibility if you are Canadian or Mexican
GRAIL sponsors TN status, which covers roles like Management Consultant or Scientific Technician depending on your duties and degree. If your BD role has a consultative or scientific advisory component, confirm with GRAIL's HR team whether your position qualifies before the offer stage.
Ask about OPT and CPT timelines early in the process
GRAIL actively hires on F-1 OPT and CPT, but your 60-day grace period after program completion is not work-authorized time. If your OPT end date falls within a few months of your target start date, raise this during offer negotiations so GRAIL's immigration team can plan around the H-1B or H-1B cap-gap window.
Use Migrate Mate to find open BD roles at GRAIL
Filtering by sponsor history and visa type saves time when targeting a specific employer. Migrate Mate lets you browse active Business Development Professional openings at GRAIL filtered by the visa pathways they support, so you apply to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.

Find Business Development Professional at GRAIL JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GRAIL sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Professionals?
Yes, GRAIL sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Professional roles. The H-1B requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. For BD roles in oncology diagnostics, degrees in life sciences, biomedical fields, or closely related disciplines generally support this classification. USCIS makes the final determination based on the specific job duties in the petition.
Which visa types does GRAIL commonly use for Business Development Professional roles?
GRAIL sponsors H-1B and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term hires, and actively hires on F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for candidates still within their academic program authorization period. TN status is also available for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role duties and degree align with a qualifying TN profession under USMCA.
What qualifications and experience does GRAIL expect for Business Development Professional roles?
GRAIL's BD roles in diagnostics and genomics typically require experience with strategic partnerships, licensing negotiations, or health system and payer engagement in a regulated biotech or medtech environment. A background in oncology, genomics, or life sciences commercialization strengthens your application significantly. Candidates who can bridge scientific knowledge with commercial deal structures are the profile GRAIL consistently hires for this function.
How do I apply for Business Development Professional jobs at GRAIL?
You can apply directly through GRAIL's careers site. To find roles at GRAIL that are open to visa sponsorship specifically, Migrate Mate filters active Business Development Professional listings by the visa types GRAIL supports, which helps you identify the right positions before applying. Tailor your application to highlight life sciences BD experience and any familiarity with GRAIL's diagnostic product portfolio.
How do I plan my timeline if I need GRAIL to file an H-1B for me?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March each year, with an October 1 start date for selected petitions. If you are on F-1 OPT and your work authorization expires before October 1, GRAIL will need to confirm whether you qualify for a cap-gap extension, which only applies if your OPT expires while a timely filed H-1B petition is pending. Start conversations with GRAIL's immigration team as early as possible, ideally before an offer is signed, to align your start date with the available filing window.
