Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
H-1B eligibility for Operations roles hinges on proving the position requires a specific bachelor's degree, not just any degree. Frame your engineering, supply chain, or industrial technology qualification explicitly against the job description before you apply.
Target plant-level roles over corporate generalist postings
Graphic Packaging's highest Operations hiring volume sits at its production facilities, not its headquarters. Roles tied to a specific plant, line, or process function tend to have clearer specialty occupation arguments, which strengthens your sponsorship case during H-1B petition preparation.
Research PERM labor market requirements early for EB roles
If you're targeting a Green Card through EB-2 or EB-3, the DOL's PERM process requires Graphic Packaging to run a genuine recruitment campaign first. Understand that this process takes months and plan your employment start date and visa status accordingly.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified Operations openings
Identifying which Graphic Packaging Operations postings are genuinely open to sponsored candidates saves weeks of outreach. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for roles where visa sponsorship has been confirmed, so you're only pursuing positions that match your immigration needs.
Address OPT and CPT timelines before your first interview
If you're on F-1 OPT, calculate your STEM extension eligibility and expiration date before engaging with a recruiter. Graphic Packaging operates as an E-Verify employer, which is a prerequisite for STEM OPT, so confirm that the specific hiring facility is enrolled before accepting an offer.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer negotiation stage
Manufacturing employers sometimes sponsor for the initial H-1B but have less defined processes for subsequent Green Card filings. Before signing, ask the hiring manager or HR specifically whether the role includes EB-2 or EB-3 PERM support, not just initial work authorization.

Find Operations at Graphic Packaging International JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Graphic Packaging International sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, Graphic Packaging International sponsors H-1B visas for Operations positions. Sponsorship is most common for roles that meet the USCIS specialty occupation standard, meaning the position requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, industrial technology, or supply chain management. Confirming this alignment before applying improves your chances of a smooth petition process.
Which visa types does Graphic Packaging International support for Operations candidates?
Graphic Packaging International has sponsored H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT visas for Operations-related roles, along with employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 categories. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional occupations. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and the specific role you're targeting within the company's operations network.
What qualifications does Graphic Packaging International expect for sponsored Operations positions?
Most sponsored Operations roles at Graphic Packaging require a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or a closely related field. Practical experience with production environments, process improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma, or packaging-specific technical knowledge strengthens your profile significantly. Roles at the plant level often prioritize hands-on operational experience alongside the academic credential required for H-1B specialty occupation eligibility.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Graphic Packaging International?
You can browse and apply for Operations positions at Graphic Packaging International directly through their careers portal, or use Migrate Mate to filter for roles at this company that are open to visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific facility and function listed in the posting. Reaching out to the plant or operations HR team after submitting your application can also help move your candidacy forward.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing H-1B sponsorship at Graphic Packaging International?
The standard H-1B cap-subject process runs on an annual cycle: registration opens in March, the lottery occurs shortly after, and approved petitions have an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, you need to secure an offer and begin the sponsorship process well before your authorized stay expires. For Green Card pathways, the DOL PERM process alone can take six to twelve months, so discuss long-term sponsorship intentions with your employer early.
