Match your credentials to EB-3 requirements
Allegheny Transportation Services files through both EB-2 and EB-3. Most trucking roles qualify under EB-3, which covers skilled workers requiring at least two years of training. Confirm your CDL classification and work history align with the specific job description before applying.
Understand PERM before your interview
Green Card sponsorship at a trucking company starts with PERM labor certification, where DOL verifies no qualified U.S. worker was passed over. Employers must document their recruitment process, so your application materials need to match the posted job requirements precisely.
Research Allegheny's active hiring regions
Transportation companies like Allegheny typically concentrate Green Card sponsorships in roles tied to specific freight corridors or terminal locations. Target your application toward positions in locations where the company shows sustained hiring activity, as those roles are more likely to reach the sponsorship stage.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsorship history
Before investing time in the application process, verify that Allegheny Transportation Services has active Green Card filing history for roles matching your background. Migrate Mate surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by employer and role, so you can confirm sponsorship patterns before outreach.
Negotiate sponsorship terms at the offer stage
Get written confirmation of Green Card sponsorship commitment before accepting an offer. Trucking employers sometimes sponsor only after a probationary period. Clarify whether the company covers PERM and I-140 filing costs or passes attorney fees to the employee, since both structures exist in this industry.
Prepare for prevailing wage documentation early
DOL requires employers to certify your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your occupation and location. Cross-check your offered salary against the OFLC Wage Search for your job classification and region before the offer is finalized, so wage-related PERM delays don't catch you off guard.
Allegheny Transportation Services Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Allegheny Transportation Services sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Allegheny Transportation Services sponsors Green Card visas through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based preference categories. The company operates in the trucking and transportation sector and has a documented history of filing Green Card petitions for qualifying roles. Sponsorship is typically tied to specific positions and is not guaranteed for every hire.
Which roles at Allegheny Transportation Services typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Allegheny Transportation Services is most commonly associated with skilled transportation roles, including commercial drivers with specialized classifications and operations or logistics positions requiring documented training or experience. EB-3 skilled worker categories cover the bulk of trucking industry filings, though EB-2 may apply to certain management or technical roles.
How do I start the Green Card process at Allegheny Transportation Services?
The process begins with your employer filing a PERM labor certification application with DOL, confirming no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. Once PERM is approved, Allegheny files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS on your behalf. You can track your priority date and visa bulletin movement through USCIS to understand your place in the queue.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at a trucking company like Allegheny Transportation Services?
Total timelines depend on your country of birth and the EB category. PERM certification typically takes six to twelve months, and I-140 adjudication adds additional time. For EB-3 applicants born in countries without significant backlogs, the full process from PERM filing to Green Card approval can run two to four years or longer depending on visa availability.
How do I find open Green Card jobs at Allegheny Transportation Services?
Migrate Mate lists open positions at employers with verified Green Card sponsorship history, including transportation companies like Allegheny Transportation Services. Filtering by EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship type helps you identify roles where the company has an established pattern of seeing the process through to completion, not just initiating it.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Allegheny Transportation Services?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
