Job Roles at Arizona State University
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Arizona State University Green Card Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target faculty and research roles first
ASU's Green Card sponsorship is strongest in academic and research positions. Focus your search on faculty appointments, postdoctoral roles, and research scientist positions, where long-term employment and institutional investment make Green Card filing a natural step.
Ask about sponsorship during the offer stage
ASU's HR and international scholar offices handle Green Card petitions. Raise sponsorship intentions before signing your offer, not after. Universities typically need internal approval to initiate PERM, and earlier conversations give you a clearer picture of what's possible.
Departments with specialized hiring sponsor more consistently
Engineering, computer science, life sciences, and healthcare-adjacent departments at ASU tend to hire internationally and sponsor Green Cards more regularly than administrative units. Prioritize roles in these areas if permanent residence is a core goal.
Use verified sponsorship data when applying
Not every ASU job listing signals Green Card eligibility. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus on roles where ASU has an established track record of filing for permanent residence.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Arizona State University sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Arizona State University sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees, primarily through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories. Sponsorship is most common in faculty, research, and highly specialized professional roles. ASU's international scholar services office typically manages the process in coordination with the hiring department and outside immigration counsel.
Which roles and departments at Arizona State University are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at ASU is most concentrated in tenure-track and tenured faculty positions, postdoctoral researchers, and specialized research scientist roles. STEM-heavy departments including engineering, biological sciences, and computer science hire internationally at higher rates and have more established Green Card filing patterns than general administrative or support departments.
How do I start the Green Card application process at Arizona State University?
The process typically begins after you've accepted an offer and been employed for a period that establishes a long-term employment relationship. Your department initiates a request through ASU's international scholar services, which coordinates with immigration attorneys to begin PERM labor certification. You'll need to provide detailed employment history, education credentials, and supporting documentation throughout the process.
How long does the Green Card process take at Arizona State University?
From PERM filing through I-140 approval, the process typically takes one to three years depending on Department of Labor processing times and USCIS workloads. If your priority date is current, adjustment of status or consular processing adds additional time. EB-2 applicants from most countries outside India and China generally move through faster than EB-3 applicants.
How do I find open Green Card sponsorship jobs at Arizona State University?
ASU posts open positions through its careers portal, but listings rarely specify Green Card sponsorship eligibility directly. Migrate Mate aggregates verified employer sponsorship data so you can identify which ASU roles align with departments that have an active Green Card filing history, saving you from applying to positions where sponsorship is unlikely.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Arizona State University?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
