Match your credentials to PERM requirements early
PERM labor certification requires your degree and experience to match the job description exactly as filed. Review the minimum requirements Fishbeck lists for your target role and confirm your credentials align before applying, discrepancies discovered mid-filing can restart the process entirely.
Target roles aligned with EB-2 eligibility
Fishbeck's engineering and environmental consulting roles often meet EB-2 standards, which require an advanced degree or exceptional ability. If your position qualifies, EB-2 avoids the longer PERM queues common with EB-3 and positions you for a faster priority date depending on your country of birth.
Verify prevailing wage before salary negotiations
DOL requires Fishbeck to pay at least the prevailing wage for your role and location during the PERM process. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your occupation and metro area before discussing compensation, so your offer meets compliance standards from day one.
Use Migrate Mate to find Fishbeck's sponsorship history
Before applying, check Migrate Mate to review Fishbeck's Green Card filing activity by role type and location. Knowing which positions have historically received sponsorship helps you focus your application on departments where the pathway is already established rather than untested.
Raise Green Card sponsorship during the offer stage
Fishbeck's HR and legal teams handle Green Card filings through a structured process, so asking about sponsorship after you have a written offer is more effective than raising it in early interviews. Confirm whether the role is designated as eligible for sponsorship before signing.
Document your specialty occupation using O*NET
USCIS evaluates whether your role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Pull the O*NET profile for your job title and confirm the education requirements align with what Fishbeck has listed, strengthening your petition against potential requests for evidence.
Fishbeck Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Fishbeck sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Fishbeck sponsors Green Card visas for engineering and technical professionals in its consulting practice. Sponsorship is typically offered after a candidate has demonstrated long-term fit within the firm, often following an initial period on a nonimmigrant work visa such as TN visa or F-1 OPT. Not every open role includes Green Card sponsorship, so confirming eligibility during the offer stage is essential.
Which roles at Fishbeck typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Fishbeck is most common in engineering disciplines including civil, structural, environmental, and geotechnical roles. These positions typically require a bachelor's or master's degree in a directly related field, which aligns with EB-2 and EB-3 eligibility criteria. Project management and technical consulting roles within the firm's core service lines are the most likely candidates for sponsorship.
How do I start the Green Card process at Fishbeck?
The process begins with Fishbeck filing a PERM labor certification with DOL, which requires the company to conduct a supervised recruitment process and demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role. Once PERM is certified, Fishbeck files an immigrant visa petition with USCIS on your behalf. Your involvement focuses on gathering documentation proving your qualifications match the certified job description.
How long does the Green Card process take at Fishbeck?
Timeline depends on your visa category and country of birth. PERM certification alone typically takes several months, followed by USCIS adjudication of the immigrant petition. Candidates born in countries with high immigration demand may face additional wait times due to annual Green Card caps. Starting the conversation with Fishbeck's HR team early in your employment gives your case the most time to progress.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Fishbeck?
Migrate Mate lists open roles at Fishbeck filtered by Green Card sponsorship eligibility, so you can identify positions where the pathway is already established before applying. Filtering by your discipline and target office location narrows results to roles that match both your credentials and Fishbeck's hiring patterns in engineering and technical consulting.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Fishbeck?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
