Target clinical and specialty roles
Maimonides Medical Center's Green Card sponsorship is concentrated in clinical positions, physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. Focus your applications on roles with direct patient care or specialized medical expertise, where sponsorship support is most established.
Confirm sponsorship intent before applying
Not every open role at Maimonides Medical Center comes with Green Card sponsorship. Ask the recruiter directly during the initial screening call whether the position includes Green Card support, so you don't invest time in a process that won't lead to permanent residency.
Understand the PERM labor certification step
Most Green Card pathways at healthcare employers like Maimonides begin with PERM labor certification, where the employer advertises the role to verify no qualified U.S. workers are available. This step is employer-driven, so your role is to stay informed and respond promptly to any documentation requests.
Use Migrate Mate to verify sponsorship history
Migrate Mate surfaces verified Green Card sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history rather than relying on job postings that may be outdated. Searching for Maimonides Medical Center on the platform helps you confirm which roles have active sponsorship backing.
Align your credentials with U.S. healthcare licensing requirements
Green Card sponsorship in healthcare requires more than visa eligibility, you'll need state licensure or credential verification from bodies like ECFMG for physicians. Resolving licensing requirements early prevents delays once Maimonides Medical Center initiates your Green Card petition.
Build a relationship with the HR and legal team early
Maimonides Medical Center's immigration process involves coordination between HR, department heads, and outside counsel. Establishing clear communication with the HR team from the offer stage helps you stay updated on petition timelines and avoid surprises during the Green Card process.
Maimonides Medical Center Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Maimonides Medical Center sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Maimonides Medical Center sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. As a large healthcare system, it has an established track record of supporting foreign national staff through the permanent residency process, particularly for clinical, nursing, and specialized medical roles where sustained employment relationships make long-term sponsorship viable.
Which roles and departments at Maimonides Medical Center are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Maimonides Medical Center is most common in clinical departments, including physician specialties, registered nursing, and allied health professions such as physical therapy and medical imaging. Research and laboratory positions may also qualify depending on the role's requirements and the candidate's background.
How does the Green Card application process work at Maimonides Medical Center?
Maimonides Medical Center typically sponsors Green Cards through the EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based categories. The process begins with PERM labor certification, where the employer documents a good-faith recruitment effort. After PERM approval, the employer files an I-140 immigrant petition, and you file for adjustment of status or consular processing depending on your current visa status and priority date.
How long does the Green Card process take when sponsored by Maimonides Medical Center?
Timeline depends on your country of birth and the visa category used. For applicants from India or China on the EB-2 or EB-3 track, wait times can extend significantly due to visa backlogs. For applicants from most other countries, the process from PERM filing to Green Card approval often takes between two and four years when no backlog applies.
How do I find open Green Card jobs at Maimonides Medical Center?
Start by searching Maimonides Medical Center directly on Migrate Mate, which filters job listings by verified sponsorship history so you can identify roles with genuine Green Card backing. When you apply, confirm sponsorship support explicitly with the recruiter, and ask whether the position has been previously sponsored or if the department has an established process for Green Card petitions.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Maimonides Medical Center?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
