Target roles in high-demand clinical specialties
Northwell Health's Green Card sponsorship tends to follow hiring need. Physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and medical researchers in shortage specialties have historically been strong candidates for employer-sponsored permanent residency at large health systems.
Ask about Green Card sponsorship during the offer stage
Healthcare employers like Northwell Health often have established immigration programs but won't always raise Green Card sponsorship unless you ask. Confirm the process, timeline, and any service commitments before signing your employment agreement.
Understand the EB-2 and EB-3 pathways relevant to your role
Northwell Health typically files Green Card petitions under EB-2 or EB-3 depending on the role's education requirements. Knowing which category your position qualifies for helps you set realistic timeline expectations before the process begins.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified Green Card roles at Northwell Health
Not every listed job includes sponsorship details. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your applications on Northwell Health roles most likely to include Green Card support.
Be prepared for the PERM labor certification stage
The Green Card process at employer-sponsored healthcare jobs typically begins with PERM, where your employer must demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available. Cooperating fully with recruitment documentation and timelines keeps your case on track.
Factor in priority date wait times for your nationality
Even after Northwell Health files your I-140 petition, your Green Card timeline depends on your country of birth and the visa bulletin. Applicants born in India or China face significantly longer waits regardless of employer support.
Northwell Health Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Northwell Health sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Northwell Health sponsors Green Card visas for eligible employees. As one of the largest health systems in the United States, Northwell has an established immigration program and regularly files permanent residency petitions for clinical, research, and select administrative roles. Sponsorship is typically tied to specific positions and is not automatic for all employees.
Which roles and departments at Northwell Health are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Northwell Health is most common in high-demand clinical areas including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and allied health, as well as research and laboratory roles. Administrative and corporate positions may qualify depending on education and job requirements, but clinical and scientific roles with specialized degree requirements see the most consistent sponsorship activity.
How does the Green Card application process work at Northwell Health?
Northwell Health typically sponsors Green Cards through the PERM labor certification process, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition filed with USCIS. Once the I-140 is approved and a visa number is available, you can apply for adjustment of status if you're already in the U.S. Northwell's in-house or retained immigration counsel generally manages the filing process on your behalf.
How long does it take to get a Green Card through Northwell Health?
The timeline varies significantly. PERM and I-140 processing can take one to two years on their own. After that, your wait depends on your country of birth and the State Department visa bulletin. Applicants from most countries may wait a few years total, while those born in India or China can face waits of a decade or more due to per-country limits.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Northwell Health that include visa sponsorship?
Standard job boards don't always distinguish between roles that include Green Card sponsorship and those that don't. Migrate Mate is built specifically for this, allowing you to search Northwell Health openings filtered by verified sponsorship history. This saves time by focusing your applications on positions where immigration support is a realistic part of the offer.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Northwell Health?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
