- Handle administrative agency (e.g. EEOC and DOL) and pre-litigation employment matters
- Draft and comment on training and provide select training to people leaders
- Assist in the development and documentation of sales commission and other incentive compensation plans
- Responsible for OFCCP compliance reports and similar filings
- Advise Benefits on compliance with relevant law and review and provide comments on contracts for company benefits

- Negotiate contracts (including DPAs) with contractors, recruiting organizations, HR vendors, and similar orgs
- Assist in drafting and updating the Employee Handbook
- Assist in administering and managing employee equity

- You have 10+ years of in-house experience (or similar law firm experience providing advice and counsel to startups)
- Experience advising companies with hourly employees, especially in California manufacturing
- Must be able to work onsite at least 3 days per week: at least 2 days at our Hayward manufacturing site and at least 1 day at our HQ in San Mateo
- You know how to triage and ruthlessly prioritize
- You manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, maintaining ownership and a high standard of accuracy and follow-through

Target engineering and technical roles first
Skydio's Green Card sponsorship is concentrated in engineering, robotics, and software development. Focusing your search on these technical disciplines gives you the strongest chance of landing a role where permanent residency support is a realistic outcome.
Understand the EB-2 and EB-3 pathways
Skydio typically sponsors Green Cards through employment-based categories like EB-2 and EB-3. Knowing which category your role and qualifications fall under helps you have an informed conversation with their HR team early in the hiring process.
Raise Green Card intent professionally during offers
The offer negotiation stage is the right moment to ask about Green Card sponsorship timelines and PERM labor certification. Defense-sector employers like Skydio are accustomed to these conversations and respond better to candidates who come prepared with specific questions.
Verify sponsorship history before applying
Not every job posting at an aerospace company confirms Green Card support. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving time by focusing only on Skydio roles confirmed to support permanent residency.
Factor in security clearance requirements
Some Skydio roles in defense and government programs require security clearances that can complicate or delay Green Card processing for non-citizens. Clarify clearance requirements early so you understand how they interact with your permanent residency timeline.
Align your application with Skydio's growth areas
Skydio is expanding in autonomous systems, AI, and defense technology. Candidates whose skills directly support these growth areas are more likely to receive long-term employment commitment, which is the foundation any employer needs before initiating Green Card sponsorship.
Skydio Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Skydio sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Skydio sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. The company has an established track record of supporting permanent residency for technical and engineering talent, which is consistent with its positioning as a long-term employer in the competitive Aerospace and Defense industry. Sponsorship is typically tied to roles where Skydio has a sustained hiring need.
Which roles at Skydio are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Engineering, software development, robotics, and hardware roles are the most common recipients of Green Card sponsorship at Skydio. These positions align directly with the company's core product development in autonomous drone systems. Candidates in specialized technical disciplines with skills that are difficult to source domestically tend to have the strongest case for employer-sponsored permanent residency.
How does the Green Card application process work at Skydio?
Skydio typically initiates the Green Card process through PERM labor certification, where the Department of Labor must certify that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. After PERM is approved, Skydio files an immigrant petition on your behalf. You then wait for a visa number to become available before filing your adjustment of status or consular application.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at Skydio?
Total timelines depend heavily on your country of birth and the employment-based category your role falls under. PERM labor certification alone can take one to two years. For applicants born in India or China, visa backlogs in the EB-2 and EB-3 categories can extend the wait significantly beyond that. Starting early and understanding your priority date is essential.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Skydio?
Skydio posts open roles on its careers page, but standard job listings rarely confirm Green Card sponsorship explicitly. Migrate Mate indexes verified sponsorship data so you can identify Skydio roles with confirmed Green Card support rather than guessing from job descriptions. This is especially useful when you need to prioritize applications and cannot afford to waste time on roles that won't lead to permanent residency.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Skydio?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
