Align your credentials to EB-2 or EB-3
South Shore Health files under both EB-2 and EB-3, so your degree level and experience depth determine which pathway applies. EB-2 requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability; EB-3 covers professionals with a bachelor's degree. Confirm your fit before applying so your resume reflects the right qualification tier.
Document your supply chain specialization precisely
PERM labor certification requires the employer to define a specific job duty set that justifies sponsorship. Before your interview, map your logistics experience to distinct technical functions like demand forecasting, inventory optimization, or carrier compliance rather than broad operational roles that may not survive DOL scrutiny.
Research the OFLC Wage Search before negotiating
Your offered salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for your occupation and location before PERM can proceed. Pull the current wage level from the OFLC Wage Search for your specific supply chain role and geographic area so you can assess whether an offer genuinely supports sponsorship before accepting.
Use Migrate Mate to identify South Shore Health's filing history
Migrate Mate surfaces Green Card filing data by employer and occupation, so you can confirm which supply chain roles South Shore Health has historically sponsored. Use that data to target the right department and frame your application around functions the company has already committed to sponsoring through the PERM process.
Ask about PERM timing during the offer stage
PERM labor certification can take six months or more before an I-140 petition is even filed, and South Shore Health's HR team needs to initiate recruitment documentation early. Ask directly during the offer process whether the role is pre-approved for sponsorship or whether PERM recruitment still needs to begin.
Cross-reference your job title against O*NET classifications
PERM filings must match a recognized occupation code, and logistics titles vary widely in how DOL categorizes them. Check your role against O*NET to confirm the standard occupational classification before your interview, so your job description aligns with what South Shore Health will ultimately submit to PERM.
South Shore Health Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does South Shore Health sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, South Shore Health sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying roles in logistics and supply chain. Sponsorship is offered through the EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories, typically requiring the employer to complete PERM labor certification through DOL before filing an I-140 petition with USCIS. Sponsorship is role-specific and not guaranteed for every position.
Which roles at South Shore Health typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at South Shore Health is concentrated in specialized logistics and supply chain positions where the employer can demonstrate a specific business need and a qualifying degree requirement. Roles in supply chain management, operations analysis, and logistics coordination are most likely to be eligible, particularly where the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
How do I start the Green Card process at South Shore Health?
The process starts when South Shore Health's HR or legal team initiates PERM labor certification with DOL on your behalf. You can't begin this yourself, so the key step is confirming during the hiring process that the role is approved for sponsorship. Once PERM is certified, South Shore Health files an I-140 petition with USCIS, and you wait for a visa number to become available based on your priority date.
How long does the Green Card process take at South Shore Health?
Timelines vary depending on the PERM pathway, I-140 processing speed, and your country of birth's visa backlog. PERM labor certification alone can take six months or more, and USCIS I-140 adjudication adds additional time. For applicants from countries with high demand, the wait for a visa number through the State Department can extend the overall timeline significantly beyond the initial filing stages.
How do I find open Green Card jobs at South Shore Health?
Migrate Mate lists Green Card sponsoring employers by role and occupation, making it easier to identify positions at South Shore Health that are likely to support sponsorship. When reviewing job postings directly, look for language referencing PERM, labor certification, or permanent residence sponsorship. Targeting roles that match South Shore Health's historical filing activity improves your chances of landing a position that leads to a Green Card.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at South Shore Health?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
