Job Roles at Sutter Health
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Sutter Health Green Card Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target clinical and allied health roles
Sutter Health's Green Card sponsorships concentrate in clinical disciplines, including nursing, physician, therapy, and diagnostic imaging positions. Focusing your search on these departments puts you where sponsorship activity is most consistent within their healthcare network.
Confirm sponsorship intent during early conversations
Not every Sutter Health hiring manager is familiar with the Green Card process. Ask directly during the initial recruiter screen whether the specific facility and role support permanent residence sponsorship, since practices can vary across their regional hospitals and medical groups.
Understand the PERM labor certification timeline
Green Card sponsorship at an organization like Sutter Health begins with PERM, which can take over a year before USCIS even receives a petition. Raise the timeline early so both you and the hiring team align on what permanent residence sponsorship actually involves.
Use a verified job search platform
Generic job boards rarely surface sponsorship details accurately. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify Sutter Health openings where Green Card support is part of the role's documented hiring profile.
Leverage H-1B status as a stepping stone
Many Sutter Health professionals begin on H-1B status before transitioning to a Green Card. If you're already in H-1B status, demonstrating strong performance in your current role strengthens the business justification Sutter Health needs to initiate the PERM process on your behalf.
Work with an immigration attorney early
Sutter Health typically coordinates with outside immigration counsel for Green Card filings. Independently consulting an attorney before your offer stage helps you understand your category, priority date, and whether EB-2 or EB-3 applies to your healthcare role and credentials.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sutter Health sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Sutter Health sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees in its healthcare network. Sponsorship is most common in clinical, technical, and specialized medical roles where Sutter Health has identified a sustained staffing need. Sponsorship is employer-initiated, so the process begins after you've secured a qualifying position and your hiring team confirms eligibility for that specific role.
Which roles and departments at Sutter Health are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Sutter Health tends to align with clinical and technical healthcare roles, including registered nurses, physicians, physical and occupational therapists, pharmacists, and diagnostic imaging specialists. Corporate and administrative positions are less commonly sponsored. Sponsorship availability also varies by facility, so confirming with the specific Sutter Health hospital or medical group during your interview process is essential.
What does the Green Card application process look like at Sutter Health?
Sutter Health initiates the process through PERM labor certification, where the Department of Labor verifies that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. Once PERM is certified, Sutter Health files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS on your behalf. If your priority date is current, you then file for adjustment of status or pursue consular processing. Sutter Health typically works with external immigration counsel to manage this process.
How long does the Green Card process take when sponsored by Sutter Health?
The timeline depends heavily on your visa category and country of birth. PERM labor certification alone can take a year or more. After that, I-140 approval and priority date availability add further time, particularly for applicants born in India or China, where backlogs in the EB-2 and EB-3 categories are significant. Expect the full process to span several years in most cases.
How do I find Sutter Health jobs that include Green Card sponsorship?
Searching directly on Sutter Health's careers site won't tell you which roles include Green Card support. Migrate Mate filters jobs by verified sponsorship history, making it easier to identify Sutter Health openings where permanent residence sponsorship is part of the role's profile. Once you find a promising position, confirm sponsorship eligibility directly with the recruiter before advancing in the process.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Sutter Health?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
