Target technical and engineering roles
Urban Engineers concentrates Green Card sponsorship on specialized engineering and consulting positions. Focus your applications on roles requiring licensed or advanced technical expertise, where the firm has the strongest precedent for supporting long-term immigration commitments.
Understand the EB-2 and EB-3 pathways
Urban Engineers sponsors through both EB-2 and EB-3 categories. Your qualifying pathway depends on your education and experience level. Clarify which category applies to your background before interviewing so you can have an informed conversation with the hiring team.
Raise Green Card sponsorship early in the process
In consulting and professional services firms, immigration decisions are often made during offer negotiation. Ask about Green Card sponsorship intent before accepting an offer to confirm alignment and avoid surprises after you've already started.
Highlight your long-term value to the firm
Green Card sponsorship is a significant employer investment. Emphasize your specialized skills, project continuity, and professional development plans during interviews to demonstrate you're a long-term asset worth sponsoring through a multi-year process.
Verify sponsorship history before applying
Not every role at Urban Engineers will come with Green Card sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you prioritize applications to positions where sponsorship is genuinely on the table.
Prepare for PERM labor certification requirements
Most EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards require PERM labor certification, which involves documenting that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. Understanding this process helps you work constructively with Urban Engineers' HR and legal teams throughout.
Urban Engineers Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Urban Engineers sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Urban Engineers sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. The firm supports both EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, which are the standard pathways for professional and skilled worker sponsorship. Sponsorship is generally reserved for specialized engineering and consulting roles where the company has an ongoing employment need.
Which roles at Urban Engineers are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Urban Engineers tends to align with specialized engineering, infrastructure, and technical consulting positions. Roles requiring advanced degrees, professional licensure, or highly specific technical expertise are the strongest candidates for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship. General administrative or entry-level roles are less commonly sponsored.
How does the Green Card application process work at Urban Engineers?
The typical process starts with PERM labor certification, where Urban Engineers documents the recruitment effort and establishes that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the position. Once certified, the firm files an I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf. After approval, you proceed to adjustment of status or consular processing depending on your current immigration situation.
How long does it take to get a Green Card through Urban Engineers?
The timeline depends heavily on your visa category and country of birth. PERM labor certification alone can take well over a year, and I-140 processing adds additional time. For applicants from high-demand countries, priority date backlogs in the EB-2 and EB-3 categories can extend the total wait significantly beyond the initial filing stages.
How do I find open Green Card jobs at Urban Engineers?
Start by identifying roles at Urban Engineers that match your engineering or consulting background, then confirm sponsorship availability directly with the recruiter or hiring manager. Migrate Mate can help you identify which positions at verified Green Card sponsors like Urban Engineers are most likely to include sponsorship, saving you time in your search.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Urban Engineers?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
