Target assurance and tax roles first
WEAVER's Green Card filings concentrate in its core service lines. Assurance, tax, and advisory positions are where the firm has historically sponsored. Prioritize roles in these departments when applying, and make your specialization clear in your materials from the outset.
Understand which EB category fits your background
EB-3 covers most staff and senior accountants requiring a bachelor's degree. EB-2 applies if your role demands an advanced degree or exceptional ability. Clarifying your category before you interview lets you ask the right questions about WEAVER's PERM process for your specific position.
Verify your wage aligns with prevailing standards
PERM requires WEAVER to pay you the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Before negotiating your offer, run your job title and metro area through the OFLC Wage Search to confirm your offered salary meets the threshold for your experience level.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm WEAVER's sponsorship history
Before investing time in WEAVER's interview process, pull the firm's LCA filing history on Migrate Mate. You'll see which job titles and office locations WEAVER has sponsored, giving you a clearer picture of where Green Card sponsorship is realistic at the firm.
Get your credential evaluation done early
If your accounting degree is from outside the U.S., PERM labor certification requires documentation that your credentials are equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree or higher. Commission a credential evaluation before you receive an offer so it doesn't delay WEAVER's filing timeline.
Ask about the PERM timeline during the offer stage
PERM labor certification can take a year or longer before USCIS even receives your immigrant petition. Ask WEAVER's HR team directly when they typically initiate PERM for sponsored roles, so you can plan your status continuity and avoid gaps between nonimmigrant and immigrant visa stages.
WEAVER Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does WEAVER sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, WEAVER sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying professional roles, primarily in its assurance, tax, and advisory service lines. Sponsorship is typically offered to experienced hires in roles requiring specialized accounting credentials. Not every position comes with Green Card sponsorship, so confirm the offer terms before accepting any role.
Which roles at WEAVER typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at WEAVER is most common in assurance, tax compliance, and advisory functions where specialized credentials like a CPA license or advanced accounting degree are required. Roles at the senior associate level and above are more likely to be considered for sponsorship than entry-level positions.
How do I navigate the Green Card application process at WEAVER?
WEAVER typically initiates the process through PERM labor certification filed with DOL, which requires demonstrating no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. Once PERM is certified, WEAVER files an immigrant petition with USCIS. You can use Migrate Mate to track filing activity and understand where WEAVER has sponsored before.
How long does the Green Card process take when sponsored by WEAVER?
The full process from PERM filing to Green Card approval generally takes several years, depending on your country of birth and the EB category. PERM certification alone can take 12 to 18 months with DOL, followed by USCIS processing of your immigrant petition and, if a visa number is available, adjustment of status.
How do I strengthen my Green Card application for a role at WEAVER?
Align your credentials with the specific requirements of the role WEAVER is sponsoring, since PERM ties the petition to the exact job description. Having a U.S. CPA license or a recognized foreign credential evaluation ready early reduces delays. Research WEAVER's office locations and service lines to target positions where sponsorship has occurred.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at WEAVER?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
