Job Roles at Broadcom
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Broadcom H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target roles where H-1B sponsorship is most common
Broadcom's H-1B filings concentrate in hardware engineering, firmware development, software engineering, and ASIC design roles. Focusing your search on these technical functions puts you in the strongest position for sponsorship consideration.
Confirm sponsorship before applying
Not every Broadcom job listing explicitly mentions visa sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter by verified sponsorship history so you're applying to roles where H-1B support is confirmed rather than assumed from the job description alone.
Understand Broadcom's acquisition-driven structure
Broadcom has grown through major acquisitions, including VMware. H-1B sponsorship practices can vary across legacy business units, so clarify early in the process which entity would be your legal employer and sponsor.
Engage recruiters early about your H-1B status
Broadcom's recruiting teams handle visa logistics, but timelines are tight around the annual H-1B cap. Disclosing your sponsorship need early allows recruiters to coordinate with immigration counsel before the April registration window closes.
Highlight specialized technical expertise
Broadcom operates in highly specialized areas including networking semiconductors, storage, and enterprise infrastructure software. Demonstrating deep domain knowledge relevant to their Technology & Software product lines strengthens your case for sponsorship approval.
Prepare for a multi-stage hiring process
Broadcom's technical interviews often include multiple rounds covering system design and domain-specific knowledge. Starting your job search early through platforms like Migrate Mate gives you time to prepare and reach out before peak hiring cycles.

Does Broadcom sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Broadcom sponsors H-1B visas for qualified candidates in technical and engineering roles. The company has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions across its semiconductor and enterprise software divisions. Sponsorship is most common for roles requiring specialized expertise that directly aligns with Broadcom's core product areas.
Which roles and departments at Broadcom are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Broadcom is most common in software engineering, hardware and ASIC design, firmware development, systems engineering, and technical program management. Roles within Broadcom's networking, storage, and enterprise software divisions, including VMware-related teams, are frequent candidates for sponsorship given the specialized degree requirements involved.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Broadcom?
Once Broadcom extends an offer to a sponsored candidate, the company works with outside immigration counsel to file the H-1B petition. This includes preparing your Labor Condition Application, gathering documentation of your qualifications, and submitting through the annual USCIS cap registration. Your recruiter coordinates the timeline, but you should provide academic and employment records promptly to avoid delays.
How do I know if a specific Broadcom job listing includes H-1B sponsorship?
Broadcom job postings don't always explicitly state whether H-1B sponsorship is available for a given role. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsorship data so you can identify Broadcom listings with a real sponsorship track record before applying. Confirming with the recruiter during the first conversation is also recommended, especially for roles within recently acquired business units.
What is the typical timeline for H-1B sponsorship at Broadcom?
The H-1B process at Broadcom follows the standard annual cap cycle. USCIS opens registration in early March, and selected petitions are filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT, Broadcom will typically coordinate timing to bridge any gap. Starting the conversation with your recruiter at least several months before the registration window opens is advisable.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Broadcom?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
