Target Chewy's technology and engineering teams
Chewy's H-1B sponsorship is heavily concentrated in software engineering, data science, and IT infrastructure roles that power its e-commerce platform and veterinary telehealth services. These departments have the strongest sponsorship history and the most active hiring.
Apply before the H-1B cap season closes
Chewy files H-1B petitions on the standard April 1 cap schedule. To be considered, you need to secure an offer and complete the sponsorship process before USCIS registration opens in March, which means starting your job search months in advance.
Verify sponsorship history before applying
Not every Chewy job listing explicitly mentions visa sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter by verified sponsorship history so you can confirm Chewy has sponsored your specific role type before investing time in the application process.
Highlight e-commerce or retail tech experience
Chewy operates at the intersection of retail and technology. Candidates who can demonstrate experience with large-scale e-commerce systems, supply chain platforms, or retail analytics are a stronger fit for the roles Chewy typically sponsors.
Engage Chewy's recruiting team early
Chewy's recruiters handle visa sponsorship coordination internally. Reaching out proactively after applying, confirming your H-1B status early in conversations, and asking about the company's sponsorship process signals you understand the timeline and reduces friction for hiring managers.
Understand Chewy's corporate structure spans multiple locations
Chewy operates fulfillment centers, corporate offices, and remote tech roles across the U.S. Sponsored H-1B positions are primarily tied to corporate and technology hubs. Confirm the work location for any role, since this affects the Labor Condition Application filed with your petition.
Chewy H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Chewy sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Chewy sponsors H-1B visas. The company has a consistent track record of filing H-1B petitions, primarily for roles in software engineering, data science, and corporate technology functions. Sponsorship is not guaranteed for every open position, so confirming visa support directly with the recruiter early in the process is important.
Which roles and departments at Chewy typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Chewy is most common in technology and engineering, including software development, data engineering, machine learning, and IT infrastructure. Corporate functions such as finance, supply chain analytics, and product management have also seen sponsorship, though at a lower frequency than technical roles.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Chewy?
Once Chewy extends an offer and confirms sponsorship, the company works with an immigration attorney to file your H-1B petition. The process includes obtaining a certified Labor Condition Application from the Department of Labor, followed by USCIS registration in March and petition filing by April 1. You should align your offer timeline with this annual cap cycle to avoid missing the filing window.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at Chewy?
From offer acceptance to H-1B approval, the timeline typically spans four to eight months under standard USCIS processing. The critical constraint is the annual cap: petitions are filed once per year, so missing the April 1 deadline means waiting another full year. Premium processing is available for a faster USCIS decision if your start date is time-sensitive.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Chewy as an international candidate?
Start by identifying Chewy roles in engineering, data, or corporate technology that align with your background. Migrate Mate surfaces verified H-1B sponsors and lets you filter by company and role type, so you can confirm Chewy's sponsorship pattern before applying. When you reach the recruiter stage, state your visa status clearly and ask about the company's sponsorship timeline upfront.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Chewy?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
