Job Roles at DoorDash
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in DoorDash H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target DoorDash's core technical teams
DoorDash's strongest H-1B sponsorship activity centers on software engineering, machine learning, and data science roles. Focusing your application on these departments gives you the best chance of landing a role where H-1B sponsorship is a well-established part of the hiring process.
Confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying
Not every DoorDash role qualifies as a specialty occupation under H-1B rules. Review the job description carefully for degree requirements in a specific field. Roles requiring any bachelor's degree regardless of field are less likely to support a successful H-1B petition.
Engage DoorDash's recruiting team early
Mention your need for H-1B sponsorship early in the recruiter conversation, not after an offer. DoorDash's recruiting process in tech moves quickly, and surfacing visa needs upfront avoids late-stage complications and helps recruiters route you through the right approval channels.
Understand the H-1B cap and timing
If you need an initial H-1B cap-subject petition, timing your DoorDash job search around the annual April lottery registration window is essential. Starting your search in the preceding months gives you the runway to secure an offer and complete registration before the deadline.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified DoorDash openings
Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, including DoorDash. This helps you focus your applications on roles where H-1B sponsorship is confirmed rather than spending time on listings where it's unclear or unlikely.
Leverage DoorDash's presence in a cap-exempt ecosystem
If you're currently in F-1 OPT or another status, DoorDash can file your H-1B petition to start on October 1 following a successful lottery selection. Align your offer acceptance and OPT expiration planning so there's no gap in your work authorization during the transition.

Does DoorDash sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, DoorDash sponsors H-1B visas and has a consistent track record of doing so across its technology and software operations. The company regularly files H-1B petitions for roles in engineering, data science, and product. International candidates in technical fields will find DoorDash a realistic sponsoring employer when applying through the right channels.
Which roles and departments at DoorDash typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at DoorDash is most common in software engineering, machine learning, data engineering, and product management. These roles consistently meet the specialty occupation standard because they require a degree in a specific technical field. Business operations, general management, and support roles are less likely to qualify and are sponsored less frequently.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at DoorDash?
Once DoorDash extends an offer and confirms sponsorship, their immigration team typically works with an outside law firm to prepare the H-1B petition. You'll provide educational credentials, employment details, and supporting documentation. DoorDash coordinates the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before filing the full petition with USCIS. The process is employer-led, but staying responsive to document requests keeps things on track.
How do I find open H-1B roles at DoorDash?
Migrate Mate lists verified H-1B sponsors including DoorDash, letting you filter for roles where sponsorship is confirmed from actual filing history. You can also search DoorDash's careers page directly, but pairing that with Migrate Mate's sponsorship data ensures you're applying for positions where H-1B support is genuinely available, not just implied in the job description.
What is the typical H-1B sponsorship timeline I should expect at DoorDash?
The timeline depends on where you are in the H-1B process. Cap-subject petitions must go through the annual lottery, with registration typically opening in March and employment starting October 1 if selected. For candidates already in valid H-1B status, DoorDash can file a transfer petition and you can begin work once the receipt notice is issued. Premium processing, which USCIS adjudicates within a set business day window, is sometimes available and can accelerate approval.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at DoorDash?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
