As a Sr. Engineering Manager, you will lead teams that own product features end-to-end—from concept and design through development, launch, and ongoing evolution. You will play a pivotal role in partnering with Product Management, UX, Architecture, and Platform teams to deliver scalable solutions that balance customer value, speed, and technical excellence.
What you’ll do:
- People Leadership: Provide leadership and management for one or more Product Engineering teams, building a strong culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Product Partnership: Partner deeply with Product Managers and UX designers to co-own product roadmaps, ensure technical feasibility, and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Drive collaboration across Product, Design, Architecture, Platform, Data, Security, and Operations to execute complex product initiatives.
- End-to-End Delivery: Lead teams responsible for feature development, experimentation, releases, operational support, and incremental improvements.
- Customer Focus: Ensure engineering teams understand customer needs, business outcomes, and success metrics beyond just technical requirements.
- AI-Powered Engineering: Promote the effective use of AI software engineering and productivity tools (e.g., AI coding assistants, automated test/code review, and incident analysis tools) to improve developer efficiency and code quality.
- Technical Guidance: Guide architectural and design decisions that support product scalability, performance, security, and long-term maintainability.
- Technical Health: Balance short-term product delivery with long-term technical health, addressing technical debt while maintaining delivery momentum.
- Agile Excellence: Establish Agile best practices that support product discovery, iterative delivery, backlog prioritization, and predictable execution.
- Dependency Management: Proactively manage dependencies across multiple product teams, shared services, and platform components.
- Mentorship: Mentor engineers and emerging leaders, developing strong product-thinking engineers and future technical leaders.
- Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.
EXPERIENCE YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:
- Core Engineering: 10+ years of experience in software development or related engineering roles.
- Leadership: 4+ years of experience as an engineering manager, specifically leading Product Engineering teams.
- Product-Led Experience: Proven experience working in product-led development environments, partnering closely with Product Management and UX.
- Technical Proficiency: 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java or similar programming languages.
- Data & Systems: 5+ years of experience building and operating customer-facing applications backed by SQL/No-SQL databases.
- Cloud Infrastructure: 4+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as GCP in a product delivery context.
- DevOps Maturity: 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and production support for live products.
- Agile Governance: 4+ years of strong experience in Agile/Scrum environments with shared accountability for product outcomes.
- AI & Productivity: Experience using and championing AI-based software engineering and productivity tools (e.g., AI coding assistants, automated testing, or operational intelligence tools) to accelerate delivery.
- Stakeholder Influence: Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills across technical and non-technical partners.
- Enterprise Environment: Experience working in large-scale enterprise or multi-product environments (Fiserv systems experience preferred).
EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE:
- Fintech Domain: Experience in financial services, payments, or fintech product development.
- Strategic Scale: Experience leading multiple product teams or platform-enabled product initiatives.
- Data-Driven Product Growth: Exposure to customer experience metrics, product analytics, and experimentation (A/B testing, feature flags).
- Global Collaboration: Experience working with distributed or globally aligned product teams.
HOW YOU’LL WORK:
- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

Align your credentials to fintech SOC codes
Fiserv's H-1B filings cluster around software development and financial systems roles. Pull the O*NET occupation profile for your target role and confirm your degree field maps directly to the listed specialty occupation requirements before applying, misalignment is the most common RFE trigger.
Verify your wage tier before negotiating
Fiserv must pay at least the prevailing wage for your role and location under DOL rules. Run your job title and ZIP code through the OFLC Wage Search to see which wage tier your offer falls into, Level I or II roles are standard for new hires, Level III for senior positions.
Target Fiserv's product engineering teams directly
Fiserv's payment processing, core banking, and merchant solutions business units sponsor H-1B at higher rates than corporate functions. Tailor your resume to platform-specific technologies like card processing infrastructure or cloud-native fintech architecture to land interviews in those higher-sponsoring divisions.
Confirm sponsorship intent before the final interview round
Fiserv recruiters handle H-1B logistics through their internal immigration team, not individual hiring managers. Ask explicitly during the offer stage whether the role is approved for H-1B sponsorship and which law firm handles their petitions, this prevents late-stage surprises after an offer is extended.
Time your application around the April cap deadline
USCIS opens H-1B cap registration in March, with petitions filed for selected registrants starting April 1. If you're on OPT, confirm your OPT end date gives you cap-gap protection through October 1, Fiserv's immigration team will need your I-20 and EAD expiration dates to plan the filing correctly.
Search Fiserv's verified sponsorship history on Migrate Mate
Before your first interview, search Fiserv on Migrate Mate to see its H-1B filing history by role and location. This tells you which job titles have a documented sponsorship track record so you can target those openings and reference specific role categories when discussing sponsorship with the recruiter.
Fiserv H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Fiserv sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Fiserv sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles across its technology and software divisions. Sponsorship is most consistent in software engineering, data and analytics, and payment systems functions. Fiserv works with an external immigration law firm to manage petition filings, and sponsorship eligibility is confirmed during the offer stage rather than earlier in the hiring process.
Which Fiserv roles and departments typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Fiserv is concentrated in technical roles that meet USCIS specialty occupation requirements, including software engineers, cloud architects, data scientists, and financial systems analysts. Product engineering and platform development teams within Fiserv's core banking, merchant solutions, and payment processing divisions are the most active sponsors. Corporate and administrative functions sponsor at much lower rates.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Fiserv?
Once Fiserv extends an offer, its internal immigration team coordinates with an outside law firm to file the Labor Condition Application with DOL and then the I-129 petition with USCIS. You'll need to provide educational credentials, your current immigration status documents, and employment details. The process begins after the H-1B cap registration lottery in March, with petitions filed from April 1 onward.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at Fiserv?
From cap registration in March to an approved H-1B effective date of October 1, the standard timeline runs roughly six to seven months. Premium processing, which USCIS adjudicates within 15 business days, is available for an additional government fee and is commonly used by Fiserv for roles with urgent start dates. Standard processing can take several months beyond the April filing date.
How do I find Fiserv H-1B jobs that are open to sponsored candidates?
Not every Fiserv job posting explicitly states H-1B sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate surfaces Fiserv's verified H-1B filing history by role type and location, so you can identify which job categories have a documented sponsorship track record before applying. Targeting roles with consistent filing history significantly improves your chances of reaching the offer stage with sponsorship confirmed.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Fiserv?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
