Target technical and engineering roles
FORTNA's H-1B sponsorship centers on roles requiring specialized knowledge in systems engineering, automation, and supply chain technology. Focusing your application on these functions significantly improves your chances of landing a sponsored position.
Understand FORTNA's project-based structure
FORTNA operates through client-facing implementation projects, so H-1B roles often require demonstrated expertise in specific technologies or methodologies. Highlighting relevant project experience in your resume signals the kind of specialty USCIS requires for H-1B approval.
Engage early in the hiring process
H-1B sponsorship requires substantial lead time for LCA filing and USCIS processing. Reaching out to FORTNA recruiters well before the April lottery window gives both sides time to align on sponsorship before deadlines arrive.
Verify sponsorship history before applying
Not every manufacturing employer actively sponsors H-1B visas for every role. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving you time on applications unlikely to result in an offer with visa support.
Demonstrate specialty occupation qualification clearly
USCIS scrutinizes manufacturing sector H-1B petitions closely. Make sure your degree field directly aligns with your target role at FORTNA, and be ready to provide documentation showing the position requires specialized knowledge, not just general skills.
Ask directly about sponsorship during interviews
FORTNA's sponsorship capacity can vary by business unit and hiring cycle. Raising the H-1B question early in conversations with hiring managers confirms whether your specific role and team have sponsorship approved in the current fiscal year.
FORTNA H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does FORTNA sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, FORTNA sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles, primarily in engineering, automation, and supply chain systems. Sponsorship availability can vary by department and hiring cycle, so confirming with the recruiter during the interview process is strongly recommended before investing significant time in the application.
Which roles and departments at FORTNA are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at FORTNA is most common in technical functions, including systems engineering, software development, automation design, and supply chain consulting. These roles align with the specialty occupation standard USCIS requires, meaning applicants with relevant engineering or computer science degrees are the strongest candidates for sponsored positions.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at FORTNA?
Once FORTNA extends a job offer with sponsorship confirmed, the company's immigration counsel files a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor and then submits Form I-129 to USCIS during the annual April filing window. Your role is to provide educational credentials, employment history, and any supporting documentation the legal team requests promptly.
How do I plan my job search timeline to align with FORTNA's H-1B sponsorship cycle?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March each year for an October 1 start date, so securing a FORTNA offer by February gives the company enough time to register you. If you are currently on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date early. Migrate Mate can help you identify FORTNA openings and track sponsorship-friendly employers throughout the year.
What can I do to strengthen my H-1B petition at FORTNA?
A strong H-1B petition requires a clear connection between your degree, your job duties, and the specialty occupation standard. At FORTNA, this means documenting how your role requires theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge in fields like engineering or computer science, and ensuring your offer letter specifies those requirements explicitly.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at FORTNA?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
