Job Roles at Generac Power Systems
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Generac Power Systems H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target engineering and technical roles first
Generac's H-1B sponsorships concentrate in specialty occupations tied to power systems engineering, electrical design, and product development. Applying to roles with a clear degree requirement in a specific technical field gives your application the strongest foundation.
Verify sponsorship history before applying
Not every Generac job posting will include visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus on roles where H-1B support has been confirmed rather than guessing from job descriptions.
Understand Generac's manufacturing operations context
Generac operates manufacturing facilities across the U.S., so roles in production engineering, supply chain systems, and quality assurance may carry sponsorship potential alongside corporate functions. Knowing which business unit you're targeting helps frame your application correctly.
Engage early with Generac's recruiting team
Manufacturing companies often have longer internal approval cycles for H-1B sponsorship decisions. Reaching out to Generac recruiters early in the process to confirm sponsorship availability for your specific role can save weeks of uncertainty later.
Prepare documentation that aligns your degree to the role
Generac will need to establish the role as a specialty occupation for the H-1B petition. Presenting a clear connection between your specific degree field and the job's technical requirements strengthens the LCA filing and USCIS petition from the outset.
Time your application around the H-1B cap cycle
If you need a new H-1B, Generac must register during the annual lottery window in March. Securing an offer and confirming sponsorship intent well before that window ensures you don't miss the only opportunity to enter the selection process that year.

Does Generac Power Systems sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Generac Power Systems does sponsor H-1B visas. The company has a documented history of filing H-1B petitions, primarily for engineering, technical, and specialized manufacturing roles. Sponsorship is not offered for every position, so confirming availability directly with the recruiting team during the hiring process is important.
Which roles and departments at Generac Power Systems are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Generac typically applies to roles that meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning positions requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and power systems, as well as software development, product management, and supply chain analytics, are the most common areas where Generac has sponsored H-1B workers.
How do I apply for a job at Generac Power Systems with H-1B sponsorship?
Start by identifying open roles at Generac that match your technical background and confirming sponsorship availability with the recruiter before advancing far into the interview process. Migrate Mate can help you identify Generac positions with verified sponsorship history. Once an offer is extended, Generac's HR and legal teams coordinate the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor and file the I-129 petition with USCIS.
How long does the H-1B process take at Generac Power Systems?
If you're subject to the annual H-1B cap, the process begins with lottery registration in March, with employment starting no earlier than October 1. From offer to work authorization, this can take six months or more. For cap-exempt transfers from another H-1B employer, Generac can file at any time, and standard USCIS processing runs roughly three to six months, with premium processing available to reduce that to 15 business days.
What can I do to strengthen my H-1B sponsorship chances at Generac Power Systems?
Focus on roles where your degree field directly maps to the position's core technical requirements, since that alignment is central to the specialty occupation determination. Research Generac's product lines and manufacturing operations so you can speak specifically to where your expertise fits. Coming into conversations with a clear understanding of the H-1B process also signals to hiring managers that sponsoring you will be straightforward rather than burdensome.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Generac Power Systems?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
