Target highly technical roles
GFT's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in specialized technology functions. Focus your applications on software engineering, data engineering, and digital transformation roles where the specialty occupation requirement is clear and sponsorship is more likely to be approved.
Confirm sponsorship early in the process
Because GFT sponsors selectively, raise H-1B sponsorship in the first recruiter conversation rather than waiting. Asking early saves time for both sides and signals that you understand the H-1B process and timeline requirements.
Demonstrate deep technical specialization
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations. Highlight specific technical skills, frameworks, and domain expertise in your application materials to make the connection between your degree and GFT's role as clear as possible.
Understand the H-1B cap and lottery timeline
H-1B cap-subject petitions follow a strict annual cycle. Align your GFT job search to the October 1 start date and March registration window. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history while planning your timeline.
Research GFT's client-facing technology work
GFT works across financial services, insurance, and manufacturing technology. Tailoring your application to the specific industry vertical you'd support shows recruiters you understand the business context, which strengthens your case for a sponsored role.
Prepare your credential documentation in advance
GFT's immigration attorneys will need your degree certificates, transcripts, and any credential evaluations before filing. If your degree is from outside the U.S., arrange a credential evaluation early so it doesn't delay the petition timeline.
GFT H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does GFT sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, GFT does sponsor H-1B visas, though sponsorship is selective rather than routine across all open roles. Sponsorship is most consistently available for specialized technology positions where the role clearly meets USCIS's specialty occupation standard. Candidates should confirm sponsorship availability directly with a GFT recruiter during initial outreach.
Which roles at GFT are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at GFT is most common in technically specialized roles such as software engineers, data engineers, cloud architects, and digital transformation consultants. Roles requiring a specific technical degree field are stronger candidates for sponsorship because they satisfy USCIS's specialty occupation requirement more clearly than generalist positions.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at GFT?
Once GFT extends a job offer and confirms sponsorship, the company's immigration counsel files a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor, then submits the H-1B petition to USCIS. Your role is to provide documentation including transcripts, degree certificates, and your resume. The employer manages filing fees and the petition itself.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at GFT?
For cap-subject H-1B petitions, the process runs from March registration through an October 1 work start date at the earliest. Standard USCIS adjudication after filing typically takes several months, while premium processing can reduce the decision to a few weeks. Build at least six to eight months of runway into your job search timeline.
How do I find H-1B jobs at GFT that offer sponsorship?
Not every GFT job posting will explicitly state H-1B sponsorship. Migrate Mate tracks verified sponsorship history by employer, so you can identify which roles and companies have an active pattern of H-1B filings before applying. Cross-reference any GFT listing you find against that sponsorship history, then confirm directly with the recruiter before investing time in the process.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at GFT?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
